Took it to the range and fired some rounds.  It loved the heeled bullets, and hit POA/POI at 25 yards with them.  It absolutely HATED the HBWCs!  I think because They were loaded with Trail Boss (lower velocity and impulse, and probably did not obdurate), rather than Unique or Bullseye.  It was fun shooting the heeled bullets!

While I did not have to pay the $1400 he originally wanted, I still paid too much for it to end up donating it to a Museum I would never see.  While I am comfortable in my retirement, I'm not flush enough to be that altruistic....

As some of you may know, I managed to talk TL out of the John Chase Colt, that is the subject of this thread.  I received the Colt letter today.  The letter has it shipped to John P. Lower's Sons in Denver, which to me is fantastic.  The only thing that would have been better had the inscription been applied at the factory, but alas it was not.  I am happy, now to finish the research on Chase and make a display.
