Need some help on Army grip

Okay, looknig to pick up an Army frame or two and have a line on some. However the guy does not know if they are off a Pietta or Uberti. Here is a pic, as they seem slightly different. Any of you know if these are both Uberti or the one is Pietta?

I 98% sure the one on the right is Uberti

I think the left one is Pietta , but can't be sure , match the holes in the TG, Pietta is slightly wider on their 1860 Army

So, does that mean Pietta Army and Navy gripframes are not interchangeable on a Pietta?

And I, too, think the one on the right is Uberti.

There is some fitting to be done , but it can be done

The main thing is the two rear holes are a bit wider on the Pietta ...overall width needs some filing Pietta TG to Uberti frame

Okay, I get it. Thought you were saying that the Pietta Army is wider than other Piettas.

NO Sir Pietta to Pietta 60 or 51 interchange

Uberti to Uberti interchange ...... However the Pietta TG is about 2MM wider and the rear holes are the same 2MM + or - Center to center

Well I got them both on the way. Two Uberti SAAs will get them. I will try them switched first between both guns to see if one fits one gun better than the other. Then I will have 3 Navy grip/frame combos to sell! Major, it was good talking to you today. Stay dry!

Hi Deacon

PLUS ONE for the Major.

Both Uberti and Pietta base their respective Cap Guns on their respective 1851 frames, the frames are slightly different. I have fit Uberti Army Frames to Pietta. It was somewhat of a Nuisance and after fitting, the wood no longer fit. Had to make new wood (Actually filled resin fake Ivory).
