Was it my imagination or did somebody have a thread about correcting the shape of the Pietta's backstraps?

Well I've heard that Pietta themselves corrected the shape within the last few years.

It's True!!  It's True !!  Couple of years past, Pietta did in fact correct the shape of the Navy Pattern Grips.  End of the grip looked like a Trombone Bell.  Fugly to quote RRio.

Surprisingly, I found several folks whom actually liked 'em and were happy to trade for their Army Pattern Grips (which I prefer, like more betterer), so I traded off all my older Pietta Navy pattern for Army.

The weird part, is Pietta Single Action 1873 pattern guns have all had the authentic Grip Shape.  The weirder part, '73 pattern Grip Sets do NOT cross over to Cap Guns.
