You know, after 30 years as mounted CW reenactor 1971 - 2002
I gotta say that uniform looks far better than I often saw on the FARBs in the early days
of reenacting , Chambray work shirts, blue jeans and leather kepi's

Props to their ingenuity ( young guys that they are )  and I don't hate the felt hat
when planets align...do the deal !

.....was late to the party.  Didn't get involved in CW reenactment until the early 90's.  Modified Goodwill suits, work shirts and bluejeans were still to be found. These videos are funny, at least the kids are honest about what they're doing.

I've watched a few of these videos now.  I gotta give these kids credit.  They are having fun and getting out side and doing stuff.  They are pretty fearless too.  I think they try stuff for the first time on video, no rehearsals etc.

Good for them.

Baltimore Ed

My very first WB outfit was a Wal Mart khaki shirt and pants that I had a seamstress play with. Added some insignia. Pike's silver bars are air force bars that Peckinpah thought looked good, also Pike has epaulettes but nobody else does. I ripped apart 2 pair of old leggings to make one pair that fit and dyed them brown. I used a woven od cotton rifle sling and an original nobuckle belt buckle that I found to build a GI pants belt. A DI hat and a pair of yellow gauntlets, a yellow khaki web belt, 1911 holster, 1911 and my '97.

The practical application that I can see for this is when your "little sidekick" is growing so fast that you don't want to spend much for something that will be outgrown by next season.
