I love the smell of Black Powder in the morning!

Sometimes plans change. I was looking for something else in my reloading shed junk shed, and came across a box of .310, 165gr flat point bullets purchased eons ago. Which is a good thing, because the .38-55 bullets I have are .380 diameter, cases are Winchester, and just like the interwebs warned me might happen, that combination won't chamber in my rifle. Needs a smaller bullet, or thinner case(Starline), or it might work with resized 30-30 cases. Fortunately, I only loaded one round to check the fit.

Silver Creek Slim

The fun of reloading.
I'm loading skirmish loads for .30-06 right now.

Morning y'all.
Coffee and ice tea are ready.

'Tis 63 and sunny. "Sunny in the morning then becoming partly sunny. A chance of sprinkles in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 80s. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph."

Toast and coffee this morning to change up from Corn Flakes ...
50% Rain expected today about 1PM   , got 0.38  of an inch yesterday, in two separate heavy downpours.

Thinking of hitting the BBQ place for lunch, the plan however is only set in wet concrete  :-\
but has a high probability...

Morning all.

Broken clouds and 71 right now, heading north of the 90 mark.

Had an interesting experience while walking the dog along the river today. A trio of fellows with an apparent bent toward hooliganism began following us at a rapidly decreasing distance. The dog suddenly took interest in the smell of a flower along the path, giving me an opportunity to face these moral degenerates and have a staring contest. One was wearing a knife, which he had his hand wrapped around. The hem of my sweater became a temporary handkerchief, which incidentally exposed the freshly waxed butt of my J-frame. They soon took an interest in the other path, and local authorities were informed of the incident.

I was told recently that I'm "livelier than a one-legged man at a butt-kicking contest."    Is that an insult or a compliment?

Hmmm  BBQ was closed ...that's news to me  ???
There is another BBQ joint at the other end of town, but to get there I'd have to pass the Catfish Place...I didn't  ;D

I bet the Catfish didn't taste like wet cement, either. ;)

Amazing how those temporary handkerchiefs can be handy.

Slim, as per discussion the other night when I went to hang my flag I saw stuff behind the holder, was a web like this, empty bug of some kind in it it, no spider.  Removed web and will look before removing the flag.   And that is why you hang the roll under, not over, despite Miz Manners and her crap.   They like outhouses but they can wander inside.   Probally a bunch under the porch, but I'm not going and looking, they are very mild mannered and only bite if abused. ::)

First time selling at a local [35 mi each way] gunshow this past weekend. Met some nice folks selling next to me and while it was slow at times it was ok. Talked to a bunch of folks and saw a couple of guys that I've worked with for 30 years but haven't seen them since I retired. Grossed almost $400.00 worth of mostly reloading stuff that was given to me or stuff that I didn't need anymore. A guy who bought 100.00 worth of stuff from me came back to show me a knife he had bought for '15', I asked 1500.00, he said no- 15 dollars. It was a 4 inch blade Randall with a brass guard, stag grips and a worn sheath. Still had the factory edge on it, blade was immaculate. I'm sure it's worth a lot more than 15.00. Standing around is hard work, Saturday was awful hot but Sunday was ok. Wouldn't want to do that every weekend.

Ran across this meme.
As an avid rail fan, and a lifetime of listening to stories, I thought the allegory was spot on.

And from the living room over the too loud TV while you are wearing headphones jamming on some Shooter Jennings or Hank the III. ;D   Not going to lie to you, the son and grandson are awful good. ;)

You were pretty as can be, sitting in the front seat
Looking at me, telling me you love me
And you're happy to be with me on the 4th of July
We sang Stranglehold 'til the stereo
Couldn't take no more of that rock and roll
So we put on a little George Jones and just sang along

Album name is a little crude but spot on.
