I didn't know that Taylors was having this one made by Uberti until I saw an ad for one on Gunbroker.  And according to their website, they actually have them in stock.  It is essentially a .45 Opentop with an 1860 barrel including rammer (except there is an Opentop style sight on the rear of the barrel).  There is no ejector, but the rammer has a hidden poker in it, similar to Cimarron's MWNN.

Also noticed Taylors has a "Hickock" Opentop, which is a 3.5" ejectorless model in .38 or .45 (Coffinmaker wouldn't even have to saw these off), though those are not in stock.

The Uberti technicians obviously used their toolbox to fabricate a Long Cylinder Conversion (LCC) look-alike.
Clever job.
The originals documented had no loading gate (and actually did not need one ... unless you were aiming at low flying objects while cocking ), most kept the loading lever without function, some had a drift adjustable rear side on the breech of the barrel.
Their caliber was initially .44 Henry RF, a few were later converted a second time to CF cartridges like .44 Colt.
Although prototypes were made in the development labs in Hartford Colt never marketed them due to patent issues.
Allegedly, they were made from Colt parts south of the border by a few shops and gunsmiths.
The total number of the LCCs is probably less than 70 specimens.
Technically, they are the predecessors of the Colt 1871/72 Open Top.

Checked them on Taylors site. I could get excited over one of these Long Army Uberti Colts ifin they would be in 44 Special/44Colt so I could shoot it along with my Richards II and Open Top. Shoot FF black fueled 44 Colt Mav Dutch's rounds probably 95% of the time. Have two hoglegs in 45 Colt, nuff for me. Those short barreled Hickok Colts do nothing for me, paperweight fodder!!

I do not wish to highjack this thread.
Since 2011 a pair of custom converted Centaure LCCs in .44 Colt cal. are my main match pistols in CAS.

Thanks, LTB, I'll be cheching them out.
In the meantime another Centaure LCC, this time with 4" barrel, .44 Colt cal., high gloss polish.
Used her together with her blued sister owned by a friend in a couple of CAS matches in 2020 when we could still shoot (Corona restrictions).
Worked good for me.

I bought one of the Taylor's "long cylinder conversions". While not exactly historical,  it's a nice gun. Well balanced and shoots well. I look at it as a 1860 version of the cimarron mwnn.
