Thoroughly soak the loops in lukewarm water, let excess water run off, then insert cartridges and let the belt air dry.

After leather is soaked I like pure neatsfoot oil to recondition. For regular maintenance after I really like skidmores cream.

make sure you use pure neatsfoot oil, NOT neatsfoot oil compound, the later will rot your stitching.

What caliber is the belt you now have?  If you're  trying  to  go  from  .38/.357 to .45 you're  probably out of luck.  If you're  going  from  .44 to .45, you shouldn't   a problem.

Use Lexol(R) Leather Conditioner applied lightly either with a soft cloth or from a spray bottle. Then wipe off the excess with a soft cloth. Do NOT overdo it, however.

the belt is sold as 44/45 by guide gear. i need 45 for m92.

If You don't require a full cartridge belt for the good looks, but only a few rounds for reloads: try inserting .45-cartridges in every-other loop after soaking.  The empty loop inbetween will give You a little more playroom.
