Anybody got any idee where I can find some of 'em?
Or even a diagram 'bout how they's made?

I'm parleyin' 'bout the ones that have a center that falls back when hit.

I never been to a W3G match an' I wanna make some of these for our upcomin' spring SASS shoots.

Do W3G targets get painted after each shooter?

How do ya score these kinda targets?  Black hits?  White hits?

Mustang,

W3G rules require metal targets to be painted and paper targets to be pasted between shooters.

I would think the major target makers probably have these targets for sale. You could check the Cowboy Chronical or the SASS merchants lists for links.

I think some can be fabricated from existing targets by cutting out a portion of the center to hold a clay pigeon, etc, to achieve the same results.

Sam Houston makes those targets.  I think they are about $250 a piece.  Fun targets!

MG,

As for scoring on the reactive targets, if the outside (black) portion is hit, it counts for a hit.  If the inner 6" reactive circle (white) is knocked out, the shooter receives a 1 second bonus.  The white plate must be knocked out to receive a bonus.  This encourages shooters to use loads sufficiently strong enough to take out the centers.

Thanks, IRT!
You say knock OUTS?
Do they actully fall OUT?  Or just swing or drop?

Check out  www.western3gun.com.  They have some video links that show the targets being shot.  Looks like the just flip down when hit.  But I dont remember for sure.

The KD portion of the target just drops down or Flips depending on how you define the action.   The ones that I have shot at would drop back (hinged) leaving an open center if hit proper.   The best part about these targets is that it get the shooter to "Aim Small", better focus.
