Is there any information available as to what forearms to bring for sidematches?

I checked the NCOWS website,  "still under construction"  (not being critical, I assure you!)

Side matches seem to be in flux. But from what I've heard, long range rifle(s), main match guns, pocket pistol, shotgun for clay targets.

Usually a left and a right,  but I believe Popeye forearms are considered "unapproved" unless you can provide photographic documentation.

I think for range safety, you should not be using spinach with those forearms, maybe arugula?   don't go all iceberg gamer on us though.

Did we ever hear if lunches will be available? ::)

Took 2x Merwin's to range today, both 1st time I fired, 44/40 3.5"bbl, Pocket Army, & a 7 shot 32 5.5"bbl with folding hammer. 44/40 no problem, 32, pull trigger hard/fast, over rotates, cocking hard with off hand also over rotates. Slower deliberate pull functional.
Will use 44/40, May use 32 at match.

Oh, none taken I assure you. If the shoe fits and all that. Besides I want to make sure my spotter keeps brining both his right and his left forearms when keeping me on target.
I have to take advantage of somebody else's mis-spellings every time I get a chance.

Here's an odd question . . .

What do the NCOWS members in Kansas recommend/use as an effective tick repellent? Or any NCOWS member, for that matter.
(And don't tell me a pair of tweezers . . .)

Why would your spotter be putting pickle brine on his forearms?

So to River City, as a Former member of missouri's irregulars, then a stint of redistributing money to those in need from retrobates like banks and railroads, I found time to play an interesting role playing game where I pretend to be a scientist in 21st century America, living in an area called the suburbs, mowing the yard (lately have been rolling ones on my d20 because i am mowing all the time!).   So this scientist has done some work in the pesticide field.    Get a treatment with an active ingredient that ends in -thrin.  Permethrin, cypermethrin, etc.   follow application directions, but probably they will have you treat the outside of your clothes and let them dry before putting them on.   The clip on items for your belt work great if  you are not moving much.

Any of the thrins are derived/synthethics from chrysanthemums, the flowers have been used for several thousand years to ward off ticks, fleas, etc.   You can link the Chinese Chrysanthemum festival to fighting off the plague, where it traveled west.   Napoleon's troops carried Chrysanthemum powder.  Plant them in your yard if you have a tick problem.

Thanks Mo.
I only seem to have a tick problem when shooting in Kansas.

It's a tough job, but I gotta protect my friends. It was only 30 or so ticks this year.
