Anybody here ever use a Barry King beading blade for a swivel knife? Sounds like a good idea.

Marshal Will Wingam

I have several sizes. They work great. See the bead in the border design in this photo (not along the edge of the leather).

Nice. Thanks Marshall

Marshal Will Wingam

Thanks. They do have their uses.

I was thinking about ordering one as well. So if I order a 1/8" beader blade, it cuts on both sides and kinda rounds off the top in between, right?

That's correct. Barry King also offers border blades that put a bead on the border but those aren't the same thing.

I'm gonna get one then.

Just saw this after asking a question on the other thread. I guess I need to try Barry King beader blade.

I just replied to your question on the other thread. I'd recommend the Barry King blade over the two others I have, one being ceramic.

HI

I looked those up.  I'm not sure that they'd be good for making a line for the Meander stamps or if just using a border tool with the swivel knife blade in it is the best bet.  I don't use a very deep cut.

A shallow cut would give you two parallel lines but not the rounded top unless you use the smallest one. That's OK, though. It all depends on what you want.

For a Meander, I use a straight blade and cut a single line. You can always run a small edge beader along the line afterwards if you like. I do that often.

Is that just to blend the base of the meander stamp?

I use the bead to give a border along the meander.

Hi
For belts, I run two lines with a border tool or a ruler and a swivel knife, but not all that deep.  I mark the inside of the belt every half inch with the medium Tandy and Barry King Meanders and do those.  I stamp where I can see a hairline between the tool and the cut, the tool slides in and it works pretty well.  I do the insides and then can to the outside of the belt without measuring.

Ah heck, I need to get the smaller meander tool from Barry anyhow.

Tell you what, BK is fast. Ordered a beader blade Monday morning, he shipped yesterday, and I got it today. I'm in Illinois!

Marshal Will Wingam

That's fast. You can't complain with that kind of service.  :D

They are fast. I noticed they started using FedEx instead of USPS. The last order got here quick, about two weeks ago. I ordered from them again last night, it shipped today and is supposed to deliver Friday.

Did you get different sizes or two of the same?
