I have decided to make myself a new pair of holsters for my Remington New Model Army Sheriff revolvers. I did a pair of holsters for these a while back when I first picked up a sewing machine but in my haste I sewed the holsters up before doing the belt loop. I ended up riviting a belt loop on that pair but was unhappy with them. Instead of taking them apart and fixing them the right way, I gave them to my 7 year old who uses them for his toy guns.

I have not decided to make me a new rig. I will prob. end up doing a new belt for these also and thought I would do a progress thread for them.

Nice, Rube. Those are going to look good. I like the clean border stamping.

Beautiful work and a very nice tutorial. Nice photography.
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

I'm really liking that border Rube. Simple and clean. Nice work as always.

Can't wait to see the finished product.

Hi Rube
Are those Tandy stamps?  Your pointy stamp, not the veiner, looks like it makes a better imprint than mine does.

The diamond or pointy stamp actually came from Hobby Lobby if I remember correctly. I don't recall the name brand of their stamps but it does leave a nice impression.

I generally prefer some shad of brown for my holsters but I wanted to make this set black. My next step is to prob. make a belt to go with it since I don't have any black belts for these holsters. I have not decided yet if I want to put a military style buckle or some other type.

Here are a few more photos of them dyed.

Looks good, Rube. Looking forward to seeing the belt and the completed rig.

But who says the belt and holsters have to match? Or any other pieces for that matter? Oops! I see the black belt kind of matches the holster for the other side. ;D

Love black with white stitching. Very classy.

True.... they sure don't have to match. Just been wanting to try a military belt buckle and black belt and thought this would be the perfect rig for that.
