Am I the only one who's sick and tired of all the bitching and crying about short stroke kits, modified guns, gamers, light loads, heavy loads, cheaters, power levels, and on and on ad nauseum?

Folks, It's high time y'all put on your big boy skivvies and learn to deal with it.

Just read the damned rules and leave everybody else alone.

Most importantly, shut up about it.  You ain't changin' anyone else's mind, and you ain't makin' any points, and you are seriously annoying the hell out of the rest of us.

Time to move on.

Forty Rod, I'm with you again. You can't go on the SASS wire without there being three or ten fights over these same should be dead by now issues.

I don't have any of the stuff they're talking about except a leather lever wrap on my stock 1866. Even if they end up banning all those gizmos the fast guys are going to win and the slow guys, like me, are going to loose.

I do agree with you. Not having access to a lot of the items mentioned, I initially read the posts. I like to find out whats going on, whats good and whats not.

Where I get put off is with the continual harping on about something after the fact. Yes I do admit that in some cases you do have to keep pushing, but these tend to be the things that have a major impact upon the sport. An example I have been through would be the banning of semi auto rifles and then pistols, in the UK. This needed and still needs people not to forget and keep it in the eyes of the polititians.

Things like "short stroke kits" to me are minor. I do not have one, I would like one to try, but I wouldnt expect to break rules to do so.

I love the variation in subjects on these forums. I am a member of a number of them. What gets me down is continual repitition. I tend to jump thos threads as soon as I see the header..

Whilst fully endorsing someones tight to express themselves I would also expect that someone else to be as courteous and civil to others in return. Unfortunately this is not always the case and then I leave the thread/ topic.

Here in NZ we do not have a lot of time for "whingers and whiners". We are a very pragmatic people, very laid back and relaxed and would prefer someone to get on with things rather than moan about them.

Since comming home I have learnt two new expressions that are in common use over here that werent when I left 25 years before.

They are "sweet as  *@%..."  (expletive used or implied) used for all that is good

and "spat the dummy" as in something a baby would do.

I love them both. Sums up Kiwis to the T.

Getting there FEB

Been a week now and the initial pain has worn off. Found I can ride the bike if I lift my arm to the handlebar with the other arm. Then its all throttle control via the wrist. Breaking is painfull. Hardest part is getting comfortable at night. Always slept on my side, not now.

Its nice to hear from you again.


I've been hitting the site pretty heavy this week. Just sitting at home is real boring.

Going back to work on Tuesday. Doc said yes if I take it easy.

What bothers me the most is that when an issue has been voted on and passed or failed, by the TG rules it can't be reconsidered for two years. Once they decide on the modification isuue and complete their vote we'll have to listen to the whinners on the loosing side for two whole years.

Yesterday at our monthy shoot our TG reported the modification issue had been tabled for study by a committie because of the modifications already in widespread use. He said what they wanted to do was draw a line in the sand on how far modifications could be used.

Well y'all I am still very new to this CAS stuff but if its sapposed to be "authentic"  then shouldnt the guns be left stock.  I dont know maybe I am stepping on toes here, but I think if they are truely trying to represent history.  Then I do beleive the guns should be left as they are.  But then again I have know idea what a short stroke is or a leather lever wrap.  Hope I dont offend any of you good ol' boys cause y'all been so helpful to me since I got here.
