As it is now it is a civilian long action class rifle.  A carbine forearm, handguard and barrel band makes it a smokeless military rifle.  Nice!

30-40 or 30-06? Nice score btw. :D

Colt SAA or S&W #3 ( * maybe a C96  ;) ) paired with the Browning , in some sort of period clothing circa  1895-1900  I'm thinking

Pistol Caliber ?

Cool.....  something like this

You can do that.  I've been known to do an 1890ish gunrunner now and then.  (think Dynamite Johnny O'Brien  https://thewildgeese.irish/profiles/blogs/dynamite-johnny-o-brien-a-captain-unafraid  )

It can be quite fun, as it allows me to use almost any rifle and handgun I have in most any combination.  You can also be in uniform, using private purchase weapons.  (the rifle determines your class, but you can dress any way you want if you can make the story work)

No need to limit yourself to single actions either.  Any number of DAs available in the 1890s.  Again, my gunrunner likes to pack a MK1 Webley, often paired with an Argentine Mauser.  Or if I want to be smoky, perhaps my shorty trapdoor with a MAS 1873 revolver.

Oh Baby, you just hit my wowzer button   :o

A Mauser 96 is on my short list ( now that the 1895 is in route )  If I ever find one... so very cool !

Vintage motorcycles are a warm fuzzy , but sadly out of reach...

I have 90 % of the Span/Am ....

I get into the spirit of clothing ( having been a reenactor for 30 years ) as much as the shooting...

I am making plans to attend in June

Would love to see you pull up in a yellow Stutz Bearcat with your '96 in a shoulder holster. Photos needed.

Well, with that combination you should carry a Bergmann pistol.  If you can't find one you could just dummy up a P38 to look like it.  After all that's what Hollywood did when they couldn't find one.

Alas , no yellow Stutz . no Bergmann or even an early motorcycle... as over the top cool those would be.

Well there is this one for $24,000  https://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/MWK/657/1972-Stutz-Bearcat-Replica

I could just see a cross country juant  in that rig,  armed with a C96 in shoulder rig and my trusty 1895....
Wonder what the " Media" would twist that story into. :o

"Close Encounter of a lone Time Traveling Hitman"     Hmmm.... Bruce Willis could play me  ;D

If you go with the Stutz you'll need to research an entirely new set of guns.  All you need to do is find a few old episodes of the 1971 TV series "Bearcat's" set in the 1914 American South West .
