Bent ejector on a Colt Bisley

Okay, I have a 1905 Colt Bisley, .38WCF Nickeled. The ejector rod works fine, but the head [crescent has been bent a bit. I am bugged by this, but don't want to damage it by trying to bend it back if I might break it. Anybody else run into this?

Unfortunately .... Yes.  It is considered a bit of dumb move to attack your SA with a hammer.  Not that you did it.  At some point in time a fired case STUCK in a chamber.  Why is immaterial.  The fix of the moment was of course, to hit the ejector with some form of Hammer.  Or, as I watched one clown, slam the ejector into the edge of a table.  Never entered their weak and idiot minds to pull the cylinder and punch the case out.  Being a Gunplumber, you get to see all sorts of really stupid things.

The part may or may not break.  My suggestion, since the OEM Nickel Plate item is slightly damaged, is to just live with it.  Or, perhaps source a new undamaged ejector rod, have it Nickel Plate and substitute.

Here's an idea to consider. If Pietta screws and ejectors will fit, buy them and fire blue them. If the gun has a worn finish you can slightly antique them so they look appropriate. The gun will look nice and you can save save the original parts for when you sell the gun(if you sell it).

Oh well "Duh"   A thought (oh my those hurt).  Since it is a nickel plate ejector, save a couple of bucks and source up a Pietta STAINLESS ejector for a GW II.  VTI or EMF be your huckleberry.  Should well be some cheaper than a Colt part (if you can even get one) and won't need plated.

Not meaning to highjack the thread, but there is one of those laying around in the family.  The old girl belonged to a Bexar County Texas Sheriff's Deputy.  The ejector housing is bowed on this one, from whacking a wrong doer upside the head.  LOL

Thankfully the housing itself is undamaged. I think Coffinmaker's idea that someone had beaten the ejector itself, bending the head.
