My First Holster

Well after looking at this thing more I could not take that edge any longer. I was out of order on the steps and actually tried to burnish the edge with beeswax before staining so it would not take the stain. I sanded the edge again and while its still no perfect it is much easier on the eyes now.

Fine leather work and top drawer finishes are a work of art and skill.
I personally like the look of aged ( not abused ) finishes, the late Chuck Burrows was skilled master of that look.
Johnny McCrae has the touch too.

I like your finish, it looks vintage.... :)  and the look to have some history already. 




I actually use tips  Chuck shared with me on aging finishes .
Here is my latest ....The Holster came from "Man the Line" ( as new )  and then after I gave it the Chuck Burrows treatment.
The holster now has the look that goes with the original WW II vintage P38

Thanks and you did an excellent job on the P38 Holster. Has a much better look in my opinion.

That seam came out fine, now. good work.

Great aging on that holster, Major. Looks great.
