I went to look at Majors e bay link and the mess kit had sold but I saw a link to this old rusty kit marked "France"

in the fall of 2018 we had a Temporary exbibit of uniforms 1812- WW II

99% of this display has now been incorporated into the more permanent Displays .

The meat can arrived thank you very much....

It went directly to the work shop for cleaning to see the marks 

The bottom is scratched PVT over Ord Goochney over what appears to be DOC

The plate/cover  has ML scratched into it .

We will attempt to trace the good Pvt.   

and the maker marks

The handle has:

US over TUSA over Co. over 1918  ( after cleaning )  for  TUSA MFG. CO.  (Contractor)
