I think I need one for the 30 round AR mags- would not hurt to have one for Glocks either. I do have the one Glock provides but it can also be a issue.

PE what do you mean by finger bite?

Got to ask "What is Red Flannel Hash"  sounds like something I'd like to spring on someone, as part of the supper menu for a special guest!

Even though I hadn't gotten into the Old West history until I got out to the West Cost, and found Cowboy Action Shooting, it really wasn't until I moved to Reno, did I really find out how much history is really packed into this area.

From the Pony Express, the Immigrate Trail, the Donner-Reed party, the 49'ers, Virginia City and the Comstock lode.  There are lots odd strange facts about the area also.  One is that while most people think about the fact that most rain that fall East of the Appalachian Mountains flows to the Atlantic.  West of there up to the Rocky's, it flowed to the Mississippi and hence into the Gulf of Mexico.  The stuff that falls West of the Sierra heads to the Pacific.  But there is a swath of land between the Sierra and the Rocky's that the water don't go nowhere (sic).  The water goes from Lake Tahoe down the Truckee River to Pyramid lake, then goes up into the air as evaporation. Most other rivers come out of the mountains that surround the area known as the Great Basin, only to be sucked into the sky out of areas now called Sinks.  I now find that I can take a 2-3 hour drive and be going through areas that had once had 60 or so feet of water over my head.  Got lots'a places around here to still explore, just need the time to keep om doin' it.

Half the potatoes are substituted for cooked beets, often people that say they hate beets want seconds.  It almost totally removes that boron taste that makes some people hate beets.

I learned to like Beets by roasting them.  I think beets were used in the original red velvet cake recipes as well. I planted some in a large pot on the deck.

Coffee is brewing... Slim's cold weather is sneaking up on us this weekend. We hooked the heat lamp back up on Chick brooder.

That sounds pretty good.  I'll wait 'til the campgrounds around here open up again.  The cast iron cookware is ready.  I think I'll try it for a breakfast dish with some Cat Head biscuits, a good pot of coffee, and a bottle of Grand Marnier (for those that like to sweeten their coffee).  See if I can entice any other campers to participate

At the 2014 NCOWS Midwest Regionals we grilled Buffalo steaks over Beartooth Billy's cook fire. Afterwards a cigar and some of Milwaukee's finest.
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

Had some friends that would get together on Memorial Day weekend on the Colorado River (just on the California side from Yuma).  Usually had 4-5 of us and we cheated a lot on true camping (had a camper trailer instead of my 10x12 white canvas tent and store bought Dinty More hash, instead of doing it from scratch).  But breakfast was corned beef hash, as many eggs as would fit on top of it in my Grandmother's cast iron skillet would hold, and coffee (with appropriate sweetener).  I used to say "What you hear was NOT the crack of dawn, it was just the sound of our arteries hardening!"
