I just recently acquired a snub nose revolver. It's a Charter Arms Bulldog. It has a 5 round cylinder and is chambered in .44 Special, has a 2" barrel and bobbed hammer. Is it ok for Zoot Shooting? At 10 ft. away, it looks like any other snub nose. I believe the .44 Special cartridge is old enough. If not, it's a good carry gun.

As long as it's the pencil style barrel yes it would be OK.  Some of the newer Bulldog's have an under lug style barrel the encloses the ejector rod, I think you could clearly see this modern style of barrel at 10 feet.

Just find any old S & W M & P or Model 10 with a pencil barrel.  They're everywhere!

This one found me,  it was made in 1919 and this holster which it came with and still loaded is marked  Brauer Bros MFG CO St Louis 1928.
It had belonged to a Motorcycle cop carried through the Depression.

Classic Firearms https://www.classicfirearms.com/smith-wesson-m10-7-classic-38-spl-4-blued-police-turn-in-hg4224-taper-bbl-revolver/ always seams to have S & W Model 10's for sale.

Be sure to stay with the original (pencil Barrel) style, some or latter heavy barrel https://www.classicfirearms.com/smith-wesson-m10-classic-38-spl-4-blued-police-turn-in-hg4151-10-6/ Guns also look too modern even though they don't have an under lug.

I have a .32 Colt Police Positive Target, with a pencil thin 6" barrel. It's been in the shop for over a year. I didn't check it over well enough when I bought it. The hammer/firing pin is not right. The gunsmith has been looking for a hammer for over a year, can't find one. So I do have a revolver, kind of.

Anyone know where I can find a hammer/firing pin let me know. Evan a parts pistol would work.

I tried them, they don't have any hammers for that old of a gun. The firing pin is coming down at a wrong angle. It's pushing the firing pin bushing out at a angle and locking up the cylinder. The gunsmith is going to try reshaping the firing pin. Cross your fingers.

Have you tried Numrich? Don't know if this is the right one, https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/174020

Numrich shows 2 different firing pins. Could try them to see if one would work. My gunsmith has been trying for over a year to find parts for it.

Have you tried e-Bay?  They have a bunch of Police Positive hammer and trigger sets on there at very reasonable prices.

I wish I had seen this before I bought the parts gun. I don't know a lot about the colts. Mine's a 32 New Police, I believe that's what it is called. That's a 32 Smith & Wesson Long, but Colt would not put Smith & Wesson on there gun, Target model. It's a small framed gun. Did colt make different size frames in the Police Positive family? The parts gun I ordered was listed as a 32 Police Positive. I hope it's the right size!

I believe you may have the correct hammer in the parts gun coming

We shot our 2 inch snubnose match Saturday so I wore my pinstripes and fedora and carried my Cimarron nickled 1911 strongside and a Colt NS .38 weakside. Shot the revolver left handed duelist, going to try to teach myself to shoot left hand this year. Guido looked sharp. Heres an old pix. I put a bug in the club presidents ear about doing a Zoot match. Told him that I would let the club use my AO Thompson as a stage gun whenever I get it sbr?ed. Maybe it will be light enough for our cowgirls to manipulate.
