I know this isn't the regular type of stuff that is posted in the forum, but I thought I'd share some stuff I found at a local gun show over the weekend. First off I found myself a .44 Henry Rimfire cartridge for $30, I'm not crazy about the price I paid for a single cartridge. I also found two repro boxes for .44 henry and .44-40, both the classic design.

Some other stuff i bought was a original winchester mold for .44-40, that'll go good with my 1884 reloading tool, also bought a old .45 colt with a UMC headstamp. Upon looking a .44 henry cartridge up close, I can see why people denounce it was wimpy. but people don't disparage other cartridge of around the same power. like I said this isn't the type of thing that usually posted here but I thought it would be something of a change.

Congratulations on you find.  The Winchester reloading tool is the model 1882 and your mold is the 5th model with wood handles.  I have this same set, new in original box with all accessories.  My box is an earlier one with the label reading "For Model of 1873".  Later on, the boxes were marked for both the 1873 and 1892 model Winchesters.

      Greetings, Nativeshootist!

Bravo on your acquisition of an original .44HenryRF cartridge; I really need to get one for my "collection" as well.
Some of my first handloading was with 19thC Tools, and there's a tremendous amount of satisfaction to be had in
making up blackpowder cartridges with them. About a year and a half back, I acquired a Winchester 1875 .44WCF
Tool, and I really need to use it, and chronicle the procedure.
   You should, too!

:D  You Betcha Red Ryder   ::)    Those are some really great acquisitions.  About a Lustrum ago, I ran into a Brandy Knew but "Old Stock" full box of .44 Henry Flat cartridges.  I DID NOT bring that box home.  It was just shy of a Thousand Bucks.  Really neat box too.
