I own a Pietta Remington 36 Navy with a Kirst Conversion. I shoot 38 special loads with 158 gr CB. I am amazed at how accurate this combination is. If I read the specs correctly from an old DGW catalog, the Pietta bore is .360. This could be why the CB bumps up so well. I owned a 1851 colt conversion that would not shoot 38 CB worth a hoot. I suggest Walt try 38 specials in his Kirst cylinder for the Remington Navy and see what he thinks of its performance. Why the converter never caught on is a mystery to me in the Remington Navy model. I love it.

Bear Creek sent me some of their Moly coated, 140 grain, .378" diameter heels bullets.  You do not need to use the shorter .38 Colt brass (.88") to use it in a Kirst .38 Konverter.  It is short enough.  I am using a stab crimp for the test rounds, but I know there are heeled crimp tools available, too.
