I couldn't agree more TL. All I shoot are my 72's or a cap n ball gun.

Used the ".44 Boys" at a match in Ione, CA.  I did 60s rounds of pure pleasure and "hit where you point."  I have to say that the 1860 based revolvers are the "pointing-est" ones around.  Very sweet shooting.  I used some Black Hills .44 Russian factory ammo at the match.  Hit basically close to POI/POA at 7-10 yards.

Saturday I am doing the local match, and think I will use some of my .44 Colt reloads: 205 grains .428" over 5.7 grains Trail Boss in a Black Hills .44 Colt case.  I think my next bullets I buy will be 225 grain .430s.  Closer to the original loading and Black Hills 230 grain .44 Colt.

Used the boys again at our local match with small targets (16 oz bottles at 25 yards for pistol bonus targets).  Got bonus points every time using the .44 Colt 1872 with its 7.5" barrel.  I was using reloaded .44 Colt ammo, 5.7 grains of Trail Boss under a 205 grain .428 bullet.  dead nuts on with a 6 o'clock hold!
