$900 still a bit high maybe   I'm thinking $800 would be fair
$800 sounds better.

I might have to get a 1905 bayonet, also.

The folks that have them are right tight & proud of them  :P  cost wise

I did not set out to gather bayonets

but I got one with the Berthier ,  found one for the M17 by chance ( no scabbard though ) and scored the 1905  American Fork and Hoe w/ scabbard
and was given the 1888 Pattern w/ scabbard ( however The scabbard is all steel and tinned navy service ? maybe )

EDIT>>>Canadian issue it turns out

Went to the TOY store yesterday.  Picked up my NEW "KNEW TWO ME" Handi rifle.  44 Manglem.  Yep, not a type 0.  The rifle is a commemorative "Whitetails Unlimited" special edition.  It is in As New condition.  UNFIRED.

I AM A GUNOHOLIC

Got a few more goodies from Midway a few days ago. Seems like their shipping department is competing with Amazon's shipping, got a gunsmith screwdriver set, bore guide kit for cleaning, 2 bikini scope covers and a hammer extension for my Marlin-came in a huge box and the items barely covered the bottom of the box. But UNLIKE Amazon, at least the box was securely taped and had a string of those plastic air bubble packing things that was at least 6 ft long.

Well .... Now that I have my Brandy New 22 year old Handi Rifle, Limited edition, with way cool Laminated stock and fore end .... it's time to replace the wood.  Time for a nice nifty custom Mannlicher  style stock set.

Just a Gunoholic what can't leave well enough alone.

You did good there Major. Can?t beat free. That?s how I got my garand except it wasn?t for anything comedic though i have been known to tell a bad joke. My hunting bud gave me a ?bag-o-garand? parts and a bbl. I eventually acquired the missing pieces and had a Marine armourer in Jacksonville NC assemble it. Turned out my buds bbl wasn?t any good but the old marine had a take off that was ok. I restocked it with a Boyds winter laminate stock after my retirement. Garands are da bomb.

Oh...ah stupid spell check  it was  "COSMEDIC  on another gun of the Previous owner ...

He had acquired
a 357 Mag. Ruger Blackhawk the had been "BUBBA" on and left in tackle box or some such place for years
Buggered main spring and
rust to spots on the finish
walnut grips
were discolored & faded

The Ruger was a sow ear.....it turned out nice enough I might buy it for the $250 he paid for it  :-\

Oh yeah ------ the Garand  ;D

You know, it?s not a self destructive addiction like booze, tobacco, womanizing, drugs, gambling, golf, bowling, tennis, skydiving, fishing or marriage, well maybe not the last few so much. But at the end of the day after spending your money to sate your hunger you have a nice shiny hunk of blued steel in your little hands to have and to hold till death do you part....Or until you sell it to buy a nicer one. When sass outlawed my most favorite 12 ga pump, the Marlin 24, I bought a 1887 lever, tried my wife?s stoeger and eventually bought a mismatched 97 and then a norinco trench and then a m12. I?m currently waiting on a uberti .45 schofield to arrive along with some correct duds for my Rafe Covington impression. I?m hoping to find a slightly used 1871 open top at the Raleigh show next weekend. I know it?s a long shot. BTW we shoot our BAMM shoot next weekend, thinking that I?ll do my Rico Fardan look. 1903 and a 45. Fun stuff.

My latest is a nice little curio.
Non-functioning, though. About the same size as those cute little Belgian 2mm pinfire used in jewelry or keychains.

ah my dear Ed, you too?

I am still restoring our family hierloom one of the model 1898, Grade C, some early owner carved some Amazing Devices upon the wood of ours
fortunately, I found new wood on Fleabay of all places and it is a work in progress.

When "they" claimed my perfectly sound, safe, checked over Marlin was unsafe at any speed and could not be used,
I retalliated by getting one of these little Belgian percussion gems and telling them
"don't worry, I will just reload on the clock"

it does go well with any C&B revolver....

The WB would just enact a rule outlawing ml shotguns. But a single shot like a martini would be period correct for non c&b pistols. Cute shotgun Professor.
