Picked up a new rifle.  Beautiful tiger stripe maple, carved and inlaid with bone and brass wire. It shoots .54 meaning I alternated using a .535 ball with either a linen garbage patch, then switched to a .15 tick patch but had to use a metal rammer to get it down.
First shot I took with another rifle and it was the outlier.  All the shots were taken off hand and it sighted in nicely.

Here are some more shots. My daughter peppered the target with a .22 Marlin lever action while I set up but this definitely ate the paper nicely when it shot. If this one don't shoot straight, it's the man, not the gun.

Dave,

Very nice!
Based on the Penn./Dutch style name types. I like the Lancaster style the most.
This is a style that seems to be used (and liked) in other Colonies/States as well. Some were even adopted for Military use such as the Virginia Manufactory Rifles.
Records from Colonial Williamsburg gun shops indicate rifles were most commonly made in .50 to .55 cal. However, it is important to note here that 10 smooth bore Fowlers were made for every Rifle in those same shops during this period. In the East a shotgun just offered many more options as to the type of hunting one might be engaged in.
What is your barrel length?
My best,

Thanks for the kind words gentlemen. If she don't eat the paper, it the shooter's fault.
