Gentlemen,  If you go to the Grand Army of the Frontier website, under the Competition header you'll find the postal match rules and targets to print.  Who's interested in doing that?  It's a good way to get your rifles running on a regular basis!

I really need to start back into that.

Yep, got the ammo, need the practice.  Did I read the pistol part right?  All 4 positions in Pistol too?  I might get a bit too much attention shooting prone pistol.  Our targets are like 5 feet high and that might clear the berm.

This is something I Could pul off... shooting scout, I think.

Picture that, a snake oil merchant in a beat up top hat and a nasty duster,
an 1866 lever carbine and remington conversion revolver,
Spectacles, Two foot brass telescope for scanning the hostiles,
and periodically consulting the crystal ball to see if I hit the target...

If you guys want to print your targets and shoot them, either send them to me, or just send me a good picture of them.  I'll score them and post the results.  Do you want to try to do one yet this month, or shall we begin in August?

Could I shoot my C96 Mauser in handgun and then shoulder stock it for the rifle part?

That's what is says, but I'm not sure where that came from.  I'll talk to the General about that.

August will work for me.  Got a new 1898 Krag rifle and new eyes.  I can see now and it is begging to be shot.
Will print them off and email to Ned right??

Niederlander

Yep.  That will work.

oh any ammo restrictions and is there a problem with shooting the rifle course at 15 yards and the pistol at 10 yards as Ben Avery has target boots at 10, 15, 25, 50, 100,200 yards on main range

Niederlander

Yes you can.  It will be slightly more difficult, as the distances will be slightly longer than required.

Having received good army training, I can achieve all 4 positions with a rifle, but am struggling to figure out sitting and prone with a pistol?  Pics anyone?

Hi
I found pictures in the Army Marksmanship guide.  I didn't think they looked all that helpful.

Wrong place, but the same stuff.
