and they are beauties

I will leave the commetary to the master plummer , save to say,  a bit of his explanations edited when he sent the photo for posting...

"I started this project with two 1860s, ?Union and Liberty? done as exclusives for Cabellas.  The frames are fully laser engraved and the barrels are also covered with quite a bit of engraving.  My original set up was to build them as Snubbies.  New Project, to build Cartridge Conversions using Kirst Konverter Gated Conversions.  I was able to snag the last two Kirst sets that were engraved to be done to match a Tom Sellick movie gun.  I didn?t do that"

The next step was to tear the guns completely down and cut the Cartridge Loading Channel thru the Frame and Original Recoil Shield.  This is a fairly easy job with a Mill and a Ball Cutter.  Brilliant me sold off the Mill and Cutters the first time I retired.  These channels  were cut with Hand Files and a Dremel Tool.  Dremel Tools can be scary.  Managed the job without having the drum jump out of the channel and bugger up the Frame.  IT.  IS.  SOME.  TIME.  CONSUMING.  to do this job.  Also sme nerve wracking.

Finish, Polish Cold Blue and oil the Cold Blue.  It may also be noted, the screws for a Shoulder Stock have been shaved down.  I find those screws MOST ANNOYING

Then it was time to attack the OEM barrels with sharp tools.  Mr Hacksaw, Mr File (s) and diamond hone to true up the muzzle crown,  11 degree forcing cone.  Plain barrel shown for clarity.  Also, I ruined one of the OEM barrels in the process and had to source another for the project.

The barrels were cut to match the length of the Kirst Ejector assembly.  Final length is a bit less than 4 1/2 inches.  More like 4 3/8ths.  Then dovetail for the front sight and make the front sights.

Then ? it was time to mess with the grips.  I couldn?t help myself.  Sourced the Ivory Like grip kits from N C Ordinance and assembled and fit.  I really like em.  A lot more than plain wood.

And the MASTERS  finished revolvers  :)

Ah My Good Major and Coffin

Those are beautiful!

Coffin, you might consider one of those cheap Harbor Freight benchtop vertical mills.
They are dandy for little jobs like this and help those of us who are clutches and cannot file anything flat and square....   or at least a bench drill press and xy vise ...

Alternatively I am looking up my links and photos for DIY wooden fixtures to hold dremmels and small router motors. This fixtures are dirt simple to whip up and make ?dremmel jump? a thing of the past
... I also built a router jig ( with screw adjustments for fine tuning) that holds the thing sideways for doing light small planing, precision  wood milling, and cutting tongue and groove and biscuit slots...

Perfesser   :)

Happy to oblige.  Here they ........   Hey .. Wait just a minute.  Shooting ??  Ammunition used ??  Do you mean I'me really suppose to SHOOT them  :o  Go out and get them ...... Dirty  ::)  Oh the horror !!!

Not actually.  The new Toys will receive a baptism of fire soon.  In their current iteration, they are in a sort of "As New" condition.  Unfired if you will.  But not "Unturned"
