Pilgrim here. Cap and ball revolvers not allowed in NCOWS?

Silver Creek Slim

Yes, they are allowed. Originals and clones of Colt's, Remingtons, Starrs, Pattersons, etc. But, the Ruger Old Army is not allowed.

The only two C&Bs not allowed in NCOWS are the Ruger Old Army (but, the Ruger Vaquero is!!!!) as already noted, and a Colt 1873 replica with C&B cylinder.

Of course they are.  There is even a separate class.  "Pistoleer"  their rifles must be pre-1873 and they only shoot 2 shot guns shots because they are allowed to use muzzle loading shotguns.  Some years we have quite a few in this class.

Wow. Thanks for the answers. NCOWS is starting to sound like it's going to be a part of my future, if I can just find some posse mates here in Oregon.

It takes balls to shoot Pistoleer....well, and caps too...and powder of course.  8)

I had a '51 Navy break completely in two at the Midwest Regional this year (cylinder pin snapped in half). You can't have that much fun in most of the other classes. I still got second place...the other guy got next to last  ;)
