My Accurate bullet mould arrived t'other day - what a gem!

Almost a shame to use it for the intended purpose, but I sure will! The meplat measures a full 1/4".  I'll see which bullet my carbine prefers, the Accurate or the Rapine 350.

Speaking of which, I was notified yesterday that the carbine has arrived. I've asked for a picture of it before I make the final payment.

Great news on carbine at dealer:

Try to get those close-up, WELL LIGHTED photo's we discussed to be clear enough to show a side shot of the bottom of receiver and lever parting line.
You know what to look for and make sure the dealer WAITS until you ok shipping.
Please share photo w me, if wish.  Tx.

I'll be sure to make a report and post pics.

BTW - the ladies picked up the goodies you shipped from the Blaine post box yesterday. Should be in my hands in a few days when my wife returns from the wet coast.

I subscribe to the Canadian Gun Nutz forum. There is a forum on the site for "Blackpowder and Antiques". A lucky guy has posted good pics of his original Sharps '63 carbine and his '65 Spencer carbine. Should interest the scholars amongst us.

Also an interesting article on the universality of the issue cartridge box which served a wide range of ammunition for a variety of arms, accommodated by different wooden blocks The one pictured has spaces for 22 rds, not 20.

Wish I knew how to post them here, but I believe that you can access them as a "guest".

Little set back .....

Just found out that my RCBS DC mould handles will not accommodate my new Accurate DC  51-350S blocks! Dang & Blast!

Now I gotta order new handles ....  ::)

Hello:

Check Accurate's website.

Want to recall that either Lee SIX cavity or RCBS fit my SINGLE cavity Accurate blocks.
Have no double-cavity ones.

I had to test handle fingers to be sure they were ONLY pressing on the block screws, not the inner finger surfaces in the cuts IN the blocks.  This is not a flaw in Accurate blocks.

Seems handles vary over time and some fingers create closing pressure on the far side of the mold block screws.  Not good, but file work on the FINGERS will easily create the clearances.

My RCBS handles work with that mold. Maybe I have a different type of handle than you have. I also modified my Lyman handles to work as well. A minute or so with the grinder, and they work just fine.

Accurate's website says their moulds fit RCBS and Lee 6 cavity handles.

I can get Lee products this side of the DMZ pretty quickly and cheaper than RCBS.
