After watching Hostiles, I need (well, as much as anyone needs anything) one for my impression in CAS. Any chance anyone has a link to a place where a repro can be had, in stock, or alternatively, a reasonably priced original? Seeing a few on eBay that are $650 and up, and I've sourced a repro scabbard, but not the knife itself.

Hi

The one by Kult of Athena is great, but also GREAT BIG compared to the originals.  Roughly two inches too long.

I have one manufactured by https://www.windlass.com/ in India that's an exact copy but I don't see it listed on their page any longer.  I bought it through http://www.legendaryarms.com/ who had it listed as out of stock when I looked for another one for a friend in July.  They also no longer list it on their sight so it may be out of production.

At one time Atlanta Cutlery had them.  AC's version was made by windlass.

What Price Glory has had replacement first model scabbards listed for this knife for some time.  My Windless repro came with a third model scabbard.  I ordered one of these replacements so I could use my knife with earlier model kit as well.  Just like everything from WPG, it's well made and looks right.  This scabbard is so much better made (and much more secure) than the leather that originally came with the blade.

I don't know anything about WPG's plans (if any) to make this knife but if you find a good price on an original 1880 knife without a scabbard (this is quite common, I had a chance to buy one like this about a year ago) you could jump on it, secure in the knowledge that quality leather is available to go with it.

Would emailing Jerry be a good idea WRT actually getting a new 1880 hunting knife?  Just PI$$ him off?
