Just heard from an "Old" CW reenacting buddy of mine. We played together from the 1970's through and into the 1990's.
Not only played together at CW reenacting but also worked at Historical sights at the same time.
He needed several parts for an original Type I 1863 Springfield Rifle Musket to restore it.
This was an area of history in which I specialized during my gun smithing years (1840 to 1865). I found that I had all the parts that he needed.
One of these parts was a mainspring. He will send me the lock to make sure he spring will fit, I will ship him all the other parts he needs for the restoration.
I keep in touch with many of these "Old" friends. Their are not as many of use around these days.
My best to all here,
Blair
