Back after dark last evening. My Queen stopped at barn to give them feed. Had a pair of new Kids from a first time  mama.  She birthed without issues.

Specting more the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for the beverages Slim

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Merry Christmas to all!

Sunshine here, instead of the forecasters wild guessers cloudy weather. Number One daughter has a stomach bug, so the shredding of the wrapping paper will be delayed a little. Doing a little firewood work in the meantime. Farmall was stubborn this morning, wouldn't start with the crank, but the barely there battery started it-barely. Holding off on the battery purchase as long as possible, this one's about 5 years old, no charging system, i just hook it to a charger periodically.

Silver Creek Slim

Same here with #1 daughter, yesterday. Seems to be better this morn.
What model of Farmall?

Light flurries were coming down earlier.

Pecan caramel rolls with be ready in a bit.

Farmall "A". First owned by my Dad's uncle, restored by my Dad and his brother in the early 90's. Still runs good, but needs some cosmetic work again. Not the best tractor for a sidehill Ozark farm, Great uncle Ralph rolled it one time, almost killed him. When it came to us, with motor frozen up, it had the wheel on the short axle side turned around to dish it out wider, as well as lots of wheel weights on the long axle side to try and keep that from happening again.

Well, I was gonna post pics of the old FArmall, but it seems I can't resize the pics small enough to post. WAs soooo simple on Win 7, but noweven when I find an option to resize, tell it to save, and poof, it saves it to some hidden file, somewhere in the hard drive.

Tried searching online about re-sizing pic, only to find a bunch of other people with the same problem, with no answer other than get Photoshop.

Why did they not keep Seven?

Even better, why did they not keep XP???

Also, forgive the double capitals that keep coming up, kids got the keyboard full of cookie crumbs, can't seem to blow them out, even with the air compressor.

Silver Creek Slim

Did all Farmall A's have wide fronts? My in-laws have an A.
I had a Super C with a narrow front at one time. I have a Ferguson 30 now.

OK... did some deep breathing to calm down. only sorta worked, so I went to the reloading shed. THat worked. Shed's kind of cold, but "Mr Heater" on a propane tank helped a lot.

Anyways, yes, all "A" FArmalls are wide front, BUT, they're narrow and the engine/transmission is offset, they were meant for garden/ truck farm use, it's offset for better visibility of the crops. So if you get the "short axle" downhill, they can tip.

Here's the front view of one from the net, not mine:

So much easier to snag pictures off the net than using my own camera.

IN other news, Older Daughter still feeling puny.

WAs up to about 50 today. After lunch took a short motorcycle ride, then a little shooting.

Shot a few groups from the bench to test some loads in my .308 Browning, and .30 Carbine. Looked promising, but may try a different powder for the .308. I bought a folding shooting bench and some bags last month, it's no real benchrest, but better than I can hold from a sitting or even prone position.

That's my next move in .308. IF I get off work in time, I'll pick up a can on the way home.

Morning y'all.
Coffee and tea are hot.

My dad's family had Farmalls on the farm: Super C, H, M and WD9. They used the Super C for cultivating.

Sackett vomitted during the night. I didn't get much sleep and not feeling too well, so I'm gonna call verk and go back to bed. We may have to call off the weekend trip to MN if this continues.  :(

'Tis 23 and overcast. High of 35.
