M-2, I don't know what the P-17 set you back, but any US bayonet in good shape for $20 will make a happy camper.

MY 1903 has a better trigger than my P-17, but I still shoot better with the 1917, at leastr with jacketed loads. Have not had success with my cast GAF loads.

No scabbard though  :(

I'll add photo's of the P-17 later, if you want ?      as the rain yesterday precluded

IT may be harder to find an original scabbard for one of those than the bayonet itself, but there are reproductions available.

There was a bit of a battle when " She " saw it coming in....
became a minor skirmish though , when I told her I traded no cash was paid out ....aside for the $20 bayonet.

Afternoon all.

41 with patchy clouds today. Got two inches of rain yesterday, but that seems to be the end of it for a while.

So far today, I have not done anything of value except cook some eggs and take the dog out to pee.  In a couple hours we're going out squirrel hunting again, so that is sort of useful.

My grandma will be in the road tomorrow, headed up. So that should be fun.
