Silver Creek Slim

Just got heavy sn*w. No rain or frizzle.

BTW, I saw a sun-dog the other morning. Frost was coming down between me and the sun. I saw a circular rainbow.

Morning all.

32 and foggy here. Not really forecast to change.

My plans for today include some nothing, followed by more nothing.  I may walk the dog, though I twisted my knee yesterday, so I may forgo that step.

My girlfriend is on a plane now, flying to Denver, then on to Spain for vacation with her family. That will be an interesting ordeal, I'm sure.

Says has been removed.

And you get black coffee.  Shut up and drink it or I'll call you racist.

That would mess with Yuppies minds.

here is the news as offered...

A Model 1917 Eddystone came home with me today .... I'll do some photos tomorrow ( weather drizzly & cloudy all day )
Barrel date indicates 1-18 , SS# match to date ....original blue 80% or better ....all parts E stamped , Ordinance bomb present on Receiver & bolt & barrel.
Extractor spring is not broken , Bore is bright with strong rifling, Head Space is a go, ...Sights are E marked.
The wood had been sanded but not abused.... I think the upper hand guard is a replacement ( its a shade darker ) but has a E .
So far it all Eddystone, no armory mismatched parts.

Probably slug it tomorrow , before reassembly....  EDIT: slugged @ .308  - found an R on the Stock after Cosmolene or RENAISSANCE WAX or whatever the gook was....

Planets aligned and the trade was made  ;D ....my FFl had a pretty nice Remington Bayonet with 6-1-1918 date I grabbed for $20

 1  HAPPY CAMPER
when planets align...do the deal !

M-2, I don't know what the P-17 set you back, but any US bayonet in good shape for $20 will make a happy camper.

MY 1903 has a better trigger than my P-17, but I still shoot better with the 1917, at leastr with jacketed loads. Have not had success with my cast GAF loads.

Evening all.

Currently 35 degrees and somewhat rainy as of 2100.

Got to do a little squirrel hunting today with my dog. Didn't get any, but any time spent in the woods with a dog and a rifle is a good time.
