With Tuolumne's description, we now have 3 different styles/pattern for the 44 stampings.  It appears that all --- Will handle a 44Spec, Colt and Russian cartridges.

WOW!   Very interesting and wonder why.

Couldn't think of a better place to put this. Last night I watched Conagher starring Sam Elliot made in 1991. At first I thought it was an American he was carrying and shooting as it had an American barrel. Later in closeups of it his holster I saw it had the Ordinetz frame. What really surprised me is that I have one just like it too.

I am hooked.  Trying to arrange an 8" to go with my 5" American.  Ordered more 44 Russian brass and Cheyenne Pioneer Cartridge 44 Russian boxes from Buffalo Arms, and 246 grain 44 Russian slugs from Bear Creek.  I have some brass, dies, powder, primers, and already have 5 of the vintage 44 Russian boxes. 

In the past, I have had an original No 3 Russian, and T&E a Uberti No. 3 Russian, but didn't care for the grips.  I love the American's (and Schofields) plow handle grip, but I think better sights than the Schofields sights.  I had a terrible time with the Schofield and sighting.

Being as how TL brought it up    Here is that very original No 3 Russian he mentioned that he passed on to me. He sent those boxes along too.
And its side kick my Uberti NM #3.

I was wondering what my American would be like with a shorter barrel. I took the barrel off of my Russian and put it on my American and there you go. I like the 8" barrel much better. Not to mention it looks cool. We all know cool looking guns shoot better don't we.

So quick question to those of you that have the Cimarron American.

Do you have any play between the barrel and frame when the gun is locked closed?
I sent mine back with this problem and just got it back today with no change.

there is a couple thousandths of vertical movement. Ugh I'm so disappointed. If they are all like this I will live with it. This gun is still unfired and I'm preparing to make a call and send it back again. The only note with it was they "refit pivot screw". I wanna shoot this gun so bad but don't want it to beat itself even more loose.

   My Navy Arms Schofield, when acquired new in the early '90s, had a noticeable amount of play at the pivot, but lock-up was satisfactory. I sold it when I bought my Old Model American 5" / .45C; the OM has no discernible play.

      Greetings, All!

   Well, I called the Charleston, WV Cabela's; after chatting up the fellow in the Gun Library, I gave him my CC# and had the #3 shipped to my Cabela's...
   This revolver is an A.Uberti Old Model #3 American, 5" Bbl., chambered for the ".44 Colt", as stamped on the barrel and etched on the rear of the cylinder. A .44 S&W SPL case will fully chamber. I could find nothing that resembles a Date Code anywhere on the frame, nor under the grips. SN #CS057X...
   Apparently, this revolver was owned by an 'Old Western Lawman' reenactor who might have shot it once or twice. I was informed that there was some holster wear; actually it was subjected to "faux holster wear", not only on the revolvers high spots, but also in places untouched by even the most amorous of holsters. Oh well, I've chosen not to worry too much about that; mechanically, it's nice, and I'll be shooting it in a couple of days. From a Lyman #429383 mould, I casted over a hundred bullets ( about 10BHN ); fifty of these were seated over 4.3gr Hercules Unique. Later I'll try other period target & gallery bullets cast from Ideal #429106, #429348, and others.
   I'd like to add a lanyard ring...

MTM Look on the back of the cylinder. Mine has the year, catalog number, and .44 Colt stamped on it. For some reason they're marked different than the .45s. .44 Americans are also in a different serial number range than the rest of the break tops for some reason.

      Greetings!

   Well! At the ten yard range, it likes my Lyman #429383 ( 10 BHN ) over 4.3gr Hercules 'Unique'. It also favors my new NOE #432-246-WC over the same powder charge; a very nice mould! Later, I'll try my also new Old West 'Anderton' mould, and Lyman #429348 & #429106.
   U.S.M.R.: all that I see on the back of the Cylinder are: A.Uberti Logo; Chambering ( ".44 Colt" ); SN#; and "IT 2021". Could it be that the "IT2021" is a new style Date Code...?

I assume you're talking about shrinking them with a phone, not a computer?  What kind of phone?  I shrink them with "Paint" on my Windows laptop.  I only just recently realized I can resize them on my Android phone by clicking on the three dots when I'm in edit mode on a picture.  If you have an I-phone, maybe someone else knows.

edit:  I just googled it and got this:

Resize an image on an iPhone using Image Size app
Select the photo you want to resize in your reel, and tap Choose in the bottom right corner.
At the top of the screen, you'll see the existing size of your image.
Enter new size dimensions in the Width and Height text boxes.

But I don't know if "Image Size app" is something that comes on your phone or if you have to add it.
