His reaction is also historically correct, ;D and one of the reasons the blouse only lasted 2 years!

That pleated blouse is just plain ugly.
Yes, it is! (but I still want one someday to go with my "ugly" 1872 campaign hat)

I just received a shipment from WPG...from Dubai to my front door in 5 days.  Not bad since it entered the US at Cincinnati and was stuck in Customs for over 24 hours.  Received a pair of 1885 ("Saxony blue") trousers, Mills Belt, and brown leggings.  All excellent quality.  The trousers were already hemmed to length!  Luckily, just the right length.  Going to seamstress today to have NCO stripes applied.

Yep, those are UGLY too.  I found it somehow hilarious that I had a "historically correct reaction" to the UGLY 1872 Fatigue Blouse, but it was and still is UGLY.

I did get an Indian War Tin Cup from WPG that I swear weighs about 3x what a Stainless of the same size weighs.

I have ordered several items through and always found them to be quality pieces. I just received a M1910 Canteen w/ cup and aluminium cap.  I also got the canteen cover with the rimless eagle snaps.  I ordered a pistol belt with the eagle snap, but the snap does not work with the mag pouch or the 1917 half moon clip pouches.  Other than the belt, everything else was great, especially the braided leather pistol lanyard.
Listen!  Do you hear that?  The roar of Cannons and the screams of the dying.  Ahh!  Music to my ears.

Hi
True, but several of the Philippine Insurrection books sow officers wearing the falling collar because it was more comfortable.  Going out house hunting for a while, I'll see if I can find and scan a copy tonight or tomorrow.

It's not too difficult for a seamstress to convert a falling collar to a stand up collar, if you need to.

There's a picture around here somewhere, I think Ned posted it last year, of a large group of officers in the phillipines, all wearing 1899s, and 9 out of 10 of them have the falling collar.  And a number have the shirt collar over the tunic collar as I recall.

I know Marines in World War 1 would wear the shirt collar over the standing collar to keep the rough wool from rubbing the neck raw.  That's also the reason you'd wear a silk or linen shirt with a standing collar underneath the blouse with the standing collar.

Hi, I ordered the 1899 set, another cup, and an Indy shirt.  Always wanted one of those.  The size 40 pants got left off the site.  They're on the way.
WPG has really good customer service in my opinion.  Wajed does a good job.

Oh, I ordered another one of the Indian war cups, they're hell for stout and so far don't tarnish.

..just got my first piece thru them. Got an 1874 Hazen cartridge loop off EBAY. He called it a second, so guess we can refer to it as Govt issue shoddy. It will serve my purpose. Ordered it Monday nite, got it today. Can't beat that. He has some nice gear. Pretty sure I will order more.

The new 1899 uniform Drydock bought from them looks pretty good.

Hi

Guess who has the 1880 Hunting knives in stock.  I asked, and Jerry send the Indians (from India, Jeez) an original to copy.  Ordered, but don't have it yet.
