Professor Marvel

Ah My Dear Coffin .....

Since the Herters .44 (RIP) is technically a clone.....

I finally got the hand spring in my Herters POS staked in properly.
I am so accustomed to soft Italian butter steel that I neglected to use a proper hardened storebought centerpunch
instead of an old nail ..... I am ashamed....

So I am marily popping away with glue bullets at the deady cardboard boxes creeping up on me from the side yard.
These things are remarkably accurate and allow one to shoot anything anytime! Basement, garage, whatever.
Just the noise of a large pistol primer and the thwack of the glue bullet punching thru cardboard.

Once I run a couple boxes of .44 spcl and .44 mag thru it  to ensure continued functioning, I'll fire up the lye and potassium pot
for the "ugly but bulletproof bluing" .

photos will follow.

and I am starting to look real hard at Capt Jack Sparrow's Schaeffer's 1851 Colt at EMF

My Good Professor,

Rest assured, Capt. Jacks' Custom built 1851, as depicted by the good folks at Pietta/EMF is a swell piece of kit.  It will require most of the "usual" prep if intended for CAS use.  My pair are absolutely brilliant  ;D  In point of fact, I shot a CLEAN MATCH with them this past weekend.  Absolutely Brill (quote PUK)

Gentlemen??  Who came inna room??  Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Why yes.  We just happen to be discussing the Capt. Schaeffer Replicant from EMF/PIETTA.  An absolutely dynamite piece of kit.

Agree. These are incredibly handsome. What we would today call a "Texas barbecue gun."   ;)
