i love Foghorn!

didst thou know that Foghorn Leghorn was based on the ficitonal  Senator Beuregard Claghorn
from The Fred Allen radio  Show. Foghorn used many of Claghorn's phrases, such as "That's a joke, I say, that's a joke, son."

You'd think  the fancy ones would taste better cause they are expensive.

All gourmet food is more expensive, that's what makes them gourmet, they cost more.  ;D

Fry them in some expensive oil like Walnut,  make the dredge them in stone ground spelt flour. We could start Admiral Carman's Hipster Fried Chicken.  Could use them chickens with the top knot that looks like a man bun. ::)

M2 is it something i think only. Popeyes is backsliding on flavor? I stop going to them. Not big on Zaxbys either.  Still like KFC but i love Bojangles.
Mathew 5.9

Will agree Publix is tops of the list. Doesn't dry out overnight. Yes some of the Bo's around here closed up also. There is a place in town that offers fried chicken fresh made. I tried it, not on a favorite list.

Major 2

There is place in town like the joint Del mentioned
Bonnie Lee's Fried Chicken, the locals rave on it ... think I been once years ago  :-\ been there forever.
I've never seen a Zaxby's ( heard of it ) around here prolly one in Orlando somewhere.

All this Chicken talk,  saw me stop at KFC got one of the Georgia Gold sandwitches for lunch ... was OK

Afternoon all.

Currently sitting at 31, wind chill to 20. Sn*wed all morning, left us with about two inches.  Mostly gone now.

The yuppie chicken place is definitely a thing that would be popular in SoCal.

I was told recently that I'm "livelier than a one-legged man at a butt-kicking contest."    Is that an insult or a compliment?

Delmonico

KFC ain't been fit to eat at since Harlan sold it.

Wife wanted fried chicken tonight made by me.  Talked her into beef steak instead.  Headed to a local store cause they have $6,99 a pound rib-eyes.  Get her one of those over fat, over priced pieces.   Will do something different for me, will look things over.

Oh and for those from out of town, few Nebraskans buy Omaha Steaks, can get better cheaper in most local owned stores.

We sell that to the out of staters.

There's a Lee's chicken place here in Missouri, but I think it's just 2 places, family owned. One in Rolla. They cater our annual match every September, really good.

Lots a folks named Lee, this family came in from somewhere down south.

Used to have Swiss Steak on menu, not no more, loved it.

Place looks like it did 60 years ago inside.

Someone stole Pioneer Pete about 3 years ago, crooks got nervous and dumped him back one night cause there was talk of a lynching.  Local Ford dealer did the work for free to restore him, local paint store provided the materials and local construction company put him back up.

The late Boston John went to college in Lincoln, planned on passing through here sometime and taking me out to Lee's. Sadly didn't happen.

The $6.99 was for a whole prime rib roast, steaks were a dollar more.  Got me a T-BONE, better cut in my opinion and a lot cheaper.

Went Yuppie and got portabella fungus, was same price as the small ones and easier to stuff.
;D
