Afternoon all.

65 and sunny today.  Little bit of cloudiness to the South, but nothing here.

Today's plans include:
-Watching church service from home on Facebook
-Write a report for class
-Taking a friend in the aviation program up to the Rims.  She hasn't been up there yet, so I'm going to show her around.  It's the closest thing to solitude in the area, and we're both pretty solitary people, so it's a good place to know.

Cleaned out a shed at the farm today.   Got it sorted, and any keepers divvied up.

Got some good stuff for me, this is the jewel.

Just what I needed, another project.   ;D

El Peludo

Good morning to all, and thanks for the cuppajoe.  I am actually up in the morning today, went to bed last night way early - for me - , and woke up at 0400, which is closer to my customary bedtime.

I drop in once in a while, and am glad to see you are all still doing apparently, relatively well; we're just pluggin' along like a couple of worn out mules.

Fall still seems to be off in the wings here in Sin City, but it's making noises like it is coming soon; still poking 100 +/- daytimes, and mid 70s overnights.  Won't be long, now.

We have a potential interest in Wissyconsin, now; youngest son and his wiffy are talking about settling and making their base of operation in Eau Claire. They get most of their business in the midwest region, and haul to the rest of the country from there and back.  Not too likely we will ever visit there again, but they like it in that region.  We are getting too banged up to travel like that any more; besides, I am a total desert rat, and if I can't see a real mountain or two, I get lost.

Later.

Hey EP

We're running a little cooler up here in the far North of Nevada, but is no leaves turning, so it's not looking like Fall yet.

Spent a lot of weekends up in the Eau Claire/ Menomonie area when I was still living back in the Milwaukee area.  Beautiful country up there, at least during the Summer (gets a little deep in white stuff in the Winter).

I'll be cutting back on my visits back to Wisconsin.  Can't take the Summer humidity, or the damp cold of the Winters.

Going to mow the lawn one more time before it goes dormant (I hope).

Morning all.

50 and overcast today. Had rain overnight, and forecast for more this afternoon.

El P, I have family just north of Eau Claire.  Can't remember the name of the place, but it's just a couple minutes away.

Del, this picture is a stove I ran across in my hiking back home.  It's been in that spot for at least 100 years, and used to be in an old miner's cabin that Uncle Sam burned down in the 70s.  When it was put there, it would have been a 35 mile trek by mule, with no possible way to get a wagon in.

Home, got invaded by flying ants about dark, were thousands for a couple hours.  A few people asked me what they were. Told them flying ants, then a few of those asked me what they were doing.  Told them they were having an orgy.  One kid asked me what I was gonna do about it.  Told him I asked them to leave but they wouldn't.

Geez maybe I should have called 911.   ::)

I guess flying ants aren't as easily intimidated as shoplifters?

Don't seem to be, but may it's cause they let their p*****s do their thinking. ;D
