Wow! That was a shock!

My wife and I competed in a 3 Gun event last week end that was no where near as violent as that video game.

No wonder kids get disconnected from reality if they get immersed into that stuff.

Yup. I pointed that out many times over the three or four lustrum.
There are a bunch of folk that continue to claim that such ultraviolent video games "are not a problem".
"Studies Show" etc etc.

unfortunately, psychiatry and psychology "are not exact sciences" and researches regularly "throw out"
results that do not agree with their paper and/or sponsor and/or agenda.

If you program yourself with any kind of input, it has to manifest itself in your life, whether propaganda, religious doctrine or whatever.

Garbage in = garbage out.

Hey PJ,
If you are watching Youtube, try and find   It's A Trap!

They have tutorials for items made for short films they have made.  Films are pretty good considering.

I respectfully disagree. I think that most folks are able to differentiate between reality and the entertainment media they consume (be it books, film, television, or video games), but I imagine that's a topic for another thread (and, as Professor Marvel pointed out, studies into the matter should be looked at with a grain of salt).

PJ Hardtack, it might be worth looking at some of the non-firing replicas on River Junction's website, or used products of the same type. I imagine one could buy some of those and add on some accessories for that steam punk look.

Good luck!

I wish all y'all could see how hard I'm laughing at this thread!  I stopped shooting CAS matches for years after being asked to leave a match because my outfit wasn't "in the spirit of the game".

(The guns were originals, the leather was copied from the originals that were used with the guns, and my outfit was matched to a photo of the original owner of the guns--but "not in the spirit".)

Seems to me the 'steampunk' element was already hidden within at least on popculture western, if we think of that fiction genre as defining technology ahead of it's time. I remember Jim West launching grappling hooks with a .41 rimfire Derringer.

PJ Hardtack

We are constantly being reminded that SASS is a "fantasy game" whenever we mention the unreal aspects of it. "Steampunk' is just another level of western "Bling!" with the techno-flavour of the Victorian era ala Jules Verne, et al.

On a quick revisit, I suddenly remembered the Chiappa Rhino.  The Rhino looks the biz out of the box.  Little bit of bling and yer there in an OEM offering.

I personally have been lusting after a Rhino.  I have no idea what I intend to do with it yet.  I just really want one.  It's just wonky enough to be real interesting.  Not to mention it's been in the Movies as a "futuristic" gun.  Yep.  I want one.

Thank You My Good Story -

Tangential reading recommendation for those interested in the topic.  Imagine 100 years of product refinement on the .303 Lee Metford design, in a stagnant technology base. Plus swash and buckling and such.

Oh Yum.  4 Inch barrel, .40 Cal, Satin Hard Chrome & wood grips.  I could definitely get real interested.  Really really nice toy.  I may well have to give a hard look at my Mad Money.  Perhaps see if my street corner is unoccupied and skuff up my Tin Cup.

Of course, I have also had a somewhat lustfull desire for a Desert Eagle.  .50AE Flavor.  Same finish.  Satin Hard Chrome.  Peddle over to I-95 and hunt Trucks with it.

PJ Hardtack

I KNOW that you are not going to "go to the I95 and hunt trucks", but that is the sort of remark on a public form that can bite you on the ass.

A lot of off hand remarks made on the social media have come back to haunt gun owners in court. In the event of a judicious shooting of some creep who badly needed it, your postings WILL be checked by prosecutors looking for a way to discredit you as a gun owner.

This applies to the T-shirt slogans we wear and even our vehicle logos. Yes, we have the right to free expression, but ..... we live in a time of unparalleled paranoia over guns.

This is a warning I frequently see from moderators of gun forums I belong to. "Big Brother" is watching .....
