Opinions on a MP40

Okay guys, I have a lead on one of these used. Reviews are mixed on reliability, but it sure would match up nice with my Tommy Gun. What do you all think of this, it probably wouldn't be great for competition, but looks like fun!

The key is no stock. I friend has one and I shot it. It is not easy to keep on target without a stock.

I think that I'd rather have a semiauto copy of the Sturmgewehr than a mp40 without the stock. If you get a tax stamp and then could get a correct folding stock installed that would be cool but $$$ I'm sure.
