Good one Harry  ;D

My Donkey story goes like this.....

Some years ago, a lady neighbor (a veterinarian BTW )  diagonally off my back pasture owns one of the critters along with her horses....
Got me in some HOT water when she first brought it home.....

Seems when I first saw it .. I said  " Doctor Mary has a nice Ass "

"She" whom must be obeyed , was none to pleased with my observation  ... later that day all was well when the critter started braying.
when planets align...do the deal !

Field Marshall is mostly loaded, need to tarp it.

Nothing loaded will be hurt if tarp leaks a bit.  Rest will load in the morning.  Got to hit the grocery store after work.  Should be on the road by noon.

I know a joke about a young hen, a rooster and a young man who has trouble with his donkey, but I'm not posting it here.

Similar story back in the 90's a old minining logging roads connecting near Hughs Creek Road in the River of No Return area. Salmon river area. Little gas stop town with abandon mine and a couple homes. The gas pumps were the glass type.  A pair of ferral burros grazed the roadsides. Apparently accepting handouts from passer bys.  Couple bags of chips later we were able to get past them. Gas and a 12er and back on our trip we went.

I have worked with domesticated ones since then

Still raining here.  More coming out there.  Talking to Jerry I'm headed out in the morning, it dry quick out there and this way I won't tear up his road.

Afternoon all.

We hit summer here.  110 yesterday, forecast for 107 today.  It's 95 at noon.

Had a couple wildfires down in the city while we were down for church yesterday. Looks like a trailer chain fire, since there were originally four fires within a mile, and all right on the roadside.  It conflagrated after a while, and It's up to 1000 acres total as of 10am.  That's mostly grass and tall oaks/ willows/cottonwoods, so the trees typically are barely singed.  But the fire moves fast, and that is dangerous.

In other news, I got invited to run for RHA president  at the college, so  that's kind of cool.

Afternoon all.

Just got home from taking my dog on her first overnight trip.  All went well, and she's a happy dog.

We're forecast for 100 today.  So far it's 80, and I'd be happy if it stayed there.

Thunderstorms last night, cloudy all day, and a downpour after work. Hindering my efforts to get ready for the muster trip. I'll leave drinking from hoof tracks for the real cowboys. Delmoico always keeps a 5 gallon cooler full of tea, and another full of Gatorade, I'll just stay hydrated from that. Pitspitr even has running water at the camp!

Supper was beef stew, biscuits and apricot cobbler.  Lots of stew left so pot pie for lunch Alon with ham and biscuits left over from breakfast.

Afternoon all.

Currently 90, headed for 100.  Also have 25% humidity.

On my itinerary today, I have to dispose of a turkey that went bad, renew the dog license, buy milk, and hose off my truck.  I'm also trying to work on my book before my dad gets home and wants the computer, but we'll see how that goes.

Busy morning here- picked up feed and run additional errands . Also picked up some watermelons. One of our favorite ways of cooling down on these hot days.

Delmonico

Real watermelons or those nasty tripoid hybrid seedless things?

Been up since 5:30 fighting wind and showers.  Lunch is done if they'd get their butts up here. ::)

Afternoon all.

Currently 85, headed for 95.  Humidity is at 30%.

I sent my morning seeing up a doctor's appointment, throwing a stick for the dog, and corralling a loose chicken.  Not sure how the bird got out, but she didn't want back in.

What is Tripoid?

I still have seeds for those heirloom (old timers ) softball size  watermelons. They are sweet but don't fit the bill today.  Yhey don't grow well here for some reason. Maybe too high of ph in soil. I don't know. These seedless ones have seeds.
