Still in the process of testing, but... it seems that drilling the flash hole out to 0.096 helps shrink the group.

Loaded up 10 each of Goex FF and Swiss 1 1/2F. Bullets are Montana Precision 300 gr FN lubed with SPG. Got them from Midway. Approximately 72.5 grs of each powder dropped thru 24" drop tube and topped with a John Walters .030 fiber wad. Waiting for weather to warm up to mortal man temps, right now here in N. Illinois it's -2F. it was all I could do to go out and get the mail, tomorrow looking colder.

Glad to hear you finally have some proper loads for your shooter , cant imagine dealing with that kind of cold . How about a pic.? Remember the rules Amigo LOL . ,,,DT

I should add that I did each load group with Winchester Standard Large Primer and CCI 250 Magnum Primer, 10 each.

Ok, here are a few pic's I took while doing this, mostly so I can remember what i did for next time.
Fresh out of the Lyman 55.

Weight scale, give or take a smidge.

After drop tube.

With a .030 card

bullet seated

Ready for Thumper!

Please advise if I'm doing something wrong so I can correct next time. I have some 330 gr bullets from Penn than I need to lube yet.

Dumb Question I know - but you checked that the length will cycle from the magazine? My Uberti would struggle with that length I think - I measured 2.28 and not a lot to spare.
My powder load is same (72.5 gr and 45thou HDPE wad)
Loaded 45/75 round has just got somethin extra nice about it.

You know, I hate to admit it, but no, I didn't check to see if it would cycle from the magazine. I did drop a few into the chamber to make sure it would chamber, they do. I'll have to check that tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.

Tried one from the mag, cycled fine. Loaded up 11 in the tube and all cycled perfectly.

I checked mine again - it would stand a little more and we not far apart anyways - but they are a PITA when they snag up !!!

I'm glad you mentioned it, it would have been bad news if they didn't worked in the time of need. Better to double check.
