"You gotta play the hand you're dealt." Something that I've always said to get me through tough times. Doesn't make it easier but it keeps the whining down. Made my wife a cup of tea this am. She's gotten burned out on caffee I guess. More coffee for me.

Use that line at work with older folks, about half get it.  The bathroom on the right gets more laughs.

Got a kid that's a regular, early 20's, seams dsharper than most his age.   Used the Mr Pebody line, figured I could tell him to look it up on YouTube, he got the CCR reference when someone else asked.

Anyway he grinned and said his dad was a big John Prine fan.

Evening all.

Well, I made it to Billings.  I have decided on a couple of things about the city.  Number one, the roads were not well thought out.  Two, hotels next to the train tracks should have gone out with the steam locomotive.  Three, being down wind of an oil refinery is not good on the nose.
That being said, the city reminds me of the city back home.  I think I'll be okay.

We just got to the hotel after a big event at the school.  Food and speakers, and all of the new students got to formally accept our big scholarships.

I think for the rest of the day, I'm going to sit back with a cold bottle of water and not drive anywhere.

I stayed in one of them Hotels the summer of 63.

Getting the train pushed  over the divide the next day by a helper  engine was cool.  Was on a curve and you could watch it.

Visit Rand Hats there in town.  My dress hat is a Rand.   You'll get sticker shock, but they are worth every penny.

Billings is not to too hard to Navigate .... at one time the railroad and those 2 hotels is all that exsisted there. (Cows) Untill the energy people moved in it was nothing but sage cows and sheep.

Thanks for the coffee

Been trying to do a little around the house today. Got a couple skirt steaks marinading. Chopped up some peppers and onions and have got rice cooked. Looks like with some salad might be a pretty good meal. Most i have put together myself in a fee weeks.

TK from my feeble old memory . Right where the railyards and the interstates meet in Billings. Is the Bill livestock yard and  Cabelas or Bass Pro Store i think night rodeo starts in May.

I'm getting a little more used to it.  I did find Cabela's today. An elk sandwich and new mag later and now I'm back at the hotel watching Tombstone.

There was more stuff at the school this morning.  I got registered for class, got a tour, and had lunch.  It was pretty interesting, learned a lot.

Was on a can the other day and found a washer used to adjust the fan belt on an air cool VW.

Ok, no surprise with the ones I've had and worked on.

Other bolt sure looks like the head bolt off a 235 Chevy, ain't done one of those since 1980 and am sure we put all of them back in. ;D
