We're right next door to Ft Leonard Wood, plenty of accommodations in the area.  The base has an excellent museum, though closed on sunday.  This is the off season, local accommodations are VERY reasonable.  The range is also not far from one of the best preserved sections of old Route 66, including Devils Elbow, and Hookers Cut.

No pre-entry, fee on arrival, please pm or post here if planning to attend.

With all due respect Colonel------Dammit!!!! I just realized that is NCOWS Convention weekend in Davenport IA. I really enjoyed the trip down south, the shoot and the camaraderie last year.

The 3 skirmish runs have been written.  Be advised you will be making a mounted charge with sword in hand. (one will be provided if need be)  You will also see the elephant.  And shoot it.  A (faux) machine gun will be in use,  pop bottles will be made to explode, and there is a possibility of a small breech loading artillery piece. (should I get a carriage figgered out).

Minimum ammunition requirement shall be 15 handgun and 42 rifle.  I would bring at least double.  Be sure you can hit a 2 liter soda bottle at 10 paces with your handgun, or you may need a LOT more handgun ammo.

Don't forget the Mad Minute rifle match.

A Precision pistol and rifle target will be integrated into 2 of the skirmish runs.  Scoring will be 19th century "String" scoring.  The score is the sum of the distance from the point of aim of all shots.  IE, if aiming at an X on a piece of cardboard, if 3 shots each landed 10mm from the X, your score is 30.  Know where your weapons point of impact is!

Don't this sound better than some old convention or family "deal"?  HA!  (Dammit Czech, not your board!)

And boy did I find a great post Christmas sale on stick animals at Aldi's!

That link didn't work for me, nor the SASS-listed version with an "s" after shooter. Any alternate web page?
