i lost it at a gun show last week and paid some big coin for a nice rifle. been craving an original for some time. its not mint but very nice and honest. the bore is pretty much perfect. spent 2 days dissecting it and clearing out all the fossilized grease crud. just could not resist the urge to fire it, so today loaded some brass with 1 1/2 black and lyman 457122 with solid nose plug. std primer and no card wad. fired at 50 yds 'cause there is still 16" of snow at my other backstop. could not believe the results, all shots where in the 3" black. holy smokes, my 2 ubertis and ex-chaparral never did that. the rifling on this has wide grooves and narrow lands which showed no leading on cleaning patch. eventually i will try a few more shots at 100 yds

need to save a few $$ and get a factory letter on it next.

every time i acquire something from this territorial era......pre state hood, i marvel and am saddened at the same time at the incredible changes that have taken place. we all have gained some, but have lost so much.
