Thanks Dell, Will do.

You got a type of wood in mind or a piece you want to use?

I can start looking if you want.

Evening all.

Weird weather day today.  Started out sunny, then at noon clouded up and spit rain.  I took the dog for a walk at 2:30, and got snowed on.  By the time I got home at 5 it was 55 degrees.  Now it's clear again.

I hope to plant potatoes tomorrow, but if it's too cold I might have to hold off.

I've always been a fan of Darker walnut, But I'll leave it up to you if you think a different wood would look better on the knife.

Doesn't black locust make good fence post? Like cedar it does not rot.

This must be a different variety, it's really only good for firewood. Worms eat it full of holes in just a few years.

What are you using for stump killer? I need to do some of that too.

HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY

Morning Coffee is up.  Hot water on the stove....60 degrees already. Headed to feed store after i feed the goats and kick chickens out on grass.  It's raining here or i'd build a temporary duck enclosure. So they can run some, and not become a meal for something else. Once they get acculmated to chickens and indoor shelter i will take it down.

Rain today through tomorrow.  I work overnight so it doesn't make a difference to me.

Doesn't last as long as cedar. Need to peel the bark off or the bugs will chew holes in it. Used one for the mailbox post. It lasted over 20 years. Used a bunch for horse fence.

Sackett is 9 to-day.

'Tis 20 and sunny. High of 47.

Afternoon all.

Sunny and 55 today.

I'll be showing my Irishness by planting some spuds today, followed by eating corned beef.

I'm finishing up my second cup of coffee right now before heading out to ready my potato patch.

Back from work. Got called in this morning to cover for the pregnant one, she was trying to work one more day, didn't work out, she went in to labor.

Roo, what I use for stump killer is Tordon RTU. Around $13 a quart, I go through at least a half dozen a year. Comes in a big plastic squirt bottle, and it's colored blue so you don't treat the same stump over again.
