"All the best nuts come from California ", never heard of an unofficial DL?? My wife has an official ID with her cute face on it issued by the NC DMV. She doesn't drive anymore due to a stroke 11 years ago. Only on the left coast.

Afternoon all from California, where it is 70 and sunny.

I haven't the foggiest idea about the whole driver license thing.  If the day that it cost me $35.  Or that it cost $220 to register my 20 year old truck.  I just have to live here for another few months.

In the eyes of the Government and my experiance vetting people entry to such facilities. Any state issued photo'd ID is acceptable.  Some now offer the Star endorsement meaning you are who you claim to be. For boarding passes. Then like this state, i used a DD214 for part of my proof of whom i really am. So i recieved a boat endorsement. I guess they didn't know the story of my castrophic accident on Lake Anna, where the canoe over turned and I lost all my firearms. That is a whole other story. I am not sure what peoples socialist republic of Kalifornia is up too. The tax rate on your gently used older vehicle seems a bit high.  My 16 year old Jeep, i renewed tags last week, $27. They reopened at 1:15 from lunch I was in and out 5 minutes.  I am sure if i was in the county south it would have not been the same story.
BTW my jeep turned 200k on Saturday.  I may get the oil changed in celebration.

Wife and i have been adding some additional fencing in for her dairy goats and our chickens can roam browse and graze. Also let the new chicks out for a bit today. In a controlled enviroment. Once they learn to go back in to roost. We will turn them out with older chickens. Life on the farm.

Afternoon all.

72 and sunny today.  I got plants sprouting and birds laying, so I guess we're good here.  Well, mostly.  My wake up call was my mom calling from the city to all where I keep my insurance paperwork in my truck, because she ran into somebody with it.   :o.  After directing her to the little leatherbound folder with the words "Insurance and Registration" stenciled in gold lettering on the side (I guess adrenaline mess with you), I found out that it was in a parking lot, and she tried to turn before backing all the way out of the parking space and the front bumper scraped the side of the car next to her.  American steel was tougher than Korean aluminum, and there's a good dog on the other car, while my bumper had a little paint smudge on the chrome.  Good morning to you too, Mom!

As soon as I drink a few cups I'm going to throw some more.30-40 Krag loads for my Krag scout. I load 10-20 and go out to my deck and see how they group. The weather here has finally broke and it's supposed to get to 80 today. Last week we had 31 degree lows. I want to get back into my shop today too. My lady is still in the rehab getting over a fall so I'm going every afternoon to work on her wheelchair to recliner/ bed transfers. I did shoot some reloads yesterday. I've got a .311 bullet order coming from midway, 170 and 192 gr lead.
Hope everybody has an Eggy Easter.

Me thinks M2 is right about a hour later....
I think all would agree Patton was right about the Russians....
Most of us were starting life our fearing what Castro would do to us.  I am not going to fret what rocket boy has in store. However, I refuse to eat the bbq ribs in a korean resturant. There is usually a bunch of missing dogs in their neighborhoods.....just saying;)

Morning all.

33 and sunny in California this morning.  Brother and I are talking dog up a mountain today.  Going to try and hit a lake up there.  Should be about three feet of snow/ice.  Ought to be interesting.

It was late last night on a plumbing check, when I brought up the Chinese take out ....yarn ..

Then I began to think about a Hollywood Script ....

Camera pans "open Space"  as we see an object ( to small to discern at first ) as the image looms closer and is brought in to focus...
We see it is Tiangong-1 it is glowing and descending.... and it is descending over the California coast.

The trajectory will be  80 K wide and 2000 K long ( 50 miles wide X  1300 Miles long) from San Francisco to Chicago, roughly....

Now the story... the Chinese are indeed in control and as the craft disintegrates,  the N Koreans have their own ICBM arcing in hidden
in the Radar chaff.... Russia is also launching a first strike @ NY & DC

The phat little phuck  is in China ,  and sequestered away, protected from what will be total annihilation of North Korea
from our own Nuclear Fleet in retaliation.

The Script is  Red Dawn meets Independence Day from then on out ...

in the end....................... the Cockroach survives .....  ::)

Mountain climb was a failure.  We made it to about half a mile from the lake before the terrain and snow got too gnarly.  Oh well.  Dog had a good time at least.
