Morning all.

Weather is a balmy 35 with an equally warm wind of 25mph.  The mountains are obscured by what appears to be falling sn*w around the 3500 foot level.  All together it seems to be a good day to stay inside, if you ask me, which you didn't, but I told you anyway.  ::)

Now for something weird.  My dog is lactating, but doesn't seem pregnant.  With some research on the interwebs, apparently this isn't that uncommon for a dog to produce milk around two months after coming out of heat.  Anyone ever experienced that?

Here we have tax free weekends for school supplies, but storm supplies? Nope.

It is new here- we have a school weekend also.
Apparently we have tornados here too.

Not sure what kind of ducks followed me home. But at 3 days they are already looking to swim. I thought maybe they were blue or black Swedes, but maybe black Runners. Either are good for what we want. Eggs.   The chicken, chicks are 9 days now and baby feathers(down) are starting to change.

The eighty degree weather finally broke, some rain moved in this afternoon.  Of course lots of stuff blooming for those of you with allergies.

Rain and more rain today, but fairly warm. Creek was about 200 yards wide this morning, I didn't go out to see how deep. ::) Probably bigger now, but I didn't go out to look. Changed a front tire on the big tractor during a break in the weather, then some gunsmith work. Plunger tube on my 1911 came loose(the little thing between the safety and takedown levers). Have had a new part and staking tool for 6-8 months, finally decided to do it. Then did some sewing, had an old nylon holster for my S&W 39 that had the belt loop falling off. All fixed now, but I'd still rather have a nice leather one....

Coffee and tea are ready to indulge.

Been raining pretty steady since around 0400.

Thanks, Roo, sunshine here, seems our rain from the last two days went south to your place.

Third cup. A beautiful morning but rain coming in later through tomorrow. We had our monthly cas match yesterday, a nice day. 17 shooters, a big crowd for us. I dug my vaqueros out of the safe and shot the cobwebs out of them. I reduced my load slightly as they had got to rapping my knuckle but I didn't take it into account and had some low misses due to the lack of recoil I'm guessing. Duelist of course. It was a bad day at Black Rock though for some. One shooter had a first rd rifle squib followed by a first rd pistol squib. Another broke his 66 loading gate tab on the first rd, another had a case fail to eject and double feed his 73. A bunch of Ps too. You pays your money and takes yer chances.

Slim and I have matching weather today.

Off till Tuesday at 4.  Working on knives, about ready to do the final polish on Michas one.  Should have everything but the final wood sanding and sharpening done before I go back

Need to get some boiled linseed oil and turpentine pay day. Should have about 20 ready for oil.   That will take about a month to do.

Meant to mention the Nest at Berry College, lost a baby Thursday. It fell from the nest and did not survive the fall.

I had read in news the central part of the country were experiancing flooding from snow melt and rain.

Fox News doesn't allow me to share links but found this in You Tube. Thought it was unusual

I thought that was Thomas Jefferson. ;)

Evening all.

Went to the city for church today. Weather was 70 degrees down there.  Quite the change from up here in the hills.  Stopped by the sportsman's Warehouse and picked up a small water filter for when I'm out with the dog.  It screws into a plastic water bottle neck, and theoretically is good for 100,000 gallons.

Apparently the annual gun show is next Saturday and nobody told me.  Had to look it up myself.  I'm going to try and pick up a scope for my mom's rifle at a discount price.

Done with the coffee for the day. But Russian hackers fer sure. They haven't found us nyet. Thank goodness for CAS city, nobody embellishes things, tells alternative truths or reports fake news here. On the other web sites I visit I believe most everything that I post and almost everything I read. But here I believe everything I post and or read. It's a real classy joint. I do think that they hacked our cas match last Saturday. Broke guns, squibs, Ps, too many misses and the occasional bonus. Bad day at Black Rock it was. To show how off it was 3 of the top 4 shooters out of 17 were duelists.

Micha's knife is ready for the oil.

This is one of the blanks I made out of a masonry saw blade.  Hard to get good pictures in the house with the reflection off the blade.  This will get a patina on it to slow rusting.

Wood is Francotte, a French cultivar of the common walnut, also known as English Walnut to most. Wood is Northern California grown on likely a Hinds Walnut root stock, also known as California Black Walnut.

Towel picture is real close to actual color.  Wood is wetted with water, need to pick up some boiled linseed oil and turpintine this week.  The grain will really pop when I get the oil on it.
