May you all have a Happy & Prosperous New Year.

Just spent eleven days in St. Petersburg, Florida. During the day the temp was mostly in the 60's and 70's. We are in Minnesota right now (-1 wind chill) and will return to Wisconsin tomorrow (-9 to +10 degrees).
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

We got snow!! Unusual in eastern NC. Cold with no wind. Very pretty to a retiree.

The range is open.

Just this morning. My friend sent me a photo of his truck covered with a light dusting of snow at his Florida address... i told him he should demand a refund!

Eastern cold and the Berry College Eagle laid her first egg about a hour ago. BTW it was on this date last year she laid her first egg also.

Roy... i know you were watching while i was outside.

Today i got in to Academy Sporting Goods.  Finally found a suitable  replacement folding knife.  A Kershaw Oso Sweet model.  https://kershaw.kaiusaltd.com/knives/knife/oso-sweet. I got for 10 bucks less than here.  I always like there knifes but tend to loose them.  This out of the package is razor sharp. Have cut paper to test - opened a bale of hay- cut my thumb- and shaved some hair off my arm. Still razor sharp, the open assist is lighting fast and the blade lock works good as does pocket clip.

Backin business with that issue

Woo .... actually had snow flurries HERE !  nothing huge, just little flakes floating about.
3rd time I've seen it in FLA.  once in WEST PALM BEACH !!!!! :o
32° this morning  33° tomorrow morning

Concerning folders ,  Schrade's Uncle Henry had a "you loose it replacement warranty" never tried it though.
But by golly, I found one once. Not sure where is now  ::)
I carry a Col. Nettleton lock back normally , and have a Benchmade ez assist thumb flip.

Morning all. Coffee is hot, the rest of us, not so much yet. It was 35-40 this morning, when I woke up... and that was inside the cabin. I need to start waking up more often through the night.

Captain, try a large glass or two of ice tea late in the evening.....works for me for a "refill the wood stove" alarm.

Delmonico: I've got the brace to go with those, but most of the bits are nowhere to be found. Use it with modern spade bits for drilling fence posts for hanging gates and other things far from electric.

And the irony there is, I have reached an age, where I take pills to keep me from having to go every 15 minutes.

Thanks for the coffee Slim.

Slim don't you have a block warner on the Beast?

Yep, got two, collecting auger bits also, much more common.

I was given 3 bits 3/8 - 1/2  at 30" OAL by a Swedish Boat builder ...no brace though  :(
The bits came in a heavy duty leather scabbard.

I've got a nice collection of bits to go with my dad's brace, even used them some in the past. Love old tools.
