I have an A5 Browning that dose not cycle. I have set the recoil spring spacer for light load (as per factory instructions), and have tried my cowboy loads and some heaver loads no luck.  I also have a Stevens 720, that once it was set for light loads it will not shoot the cowboy but will shoot the field loads. The Browning has a poly choke w/ compensator.  The field loads are 1 1/8 oz., should I try heavier.? I have done some research, and have seen some ways to compensate . Although what I have seen, I am not sure are safe. I am open to suggestions.

Mine does that when it gets cold because I haven't cleaned it thoroughly since I've had it.  (The only gun I have that applies to, by the way.)  Would that compensator have any thing to do with it?

I go the A5 running, it was a combination of old (sticky) oil on mag tube, and dirty chamber up by the forcing cone. The 720 is also working, it was set for heavy shells. Getting hand loads figured out for the A5 is going to be tricky, with the compensator it has to be set for light loads, and have a load with a minimum of 1200 fps with at least 1 oz load to work.
