The Trinity Kid

Morning all.

Headed back to the tower after I finish my coffee.  Forecast for sub-freezing temperatures and, dare I say it, s**w at the tower.  :o  And don't forget 35mph+ winds.  I packed my long underwear for this go around.
I'm going to try and split this week into two halves, per usual, but we'll see.  I may be up there all week again.  I'll let you know. ::)

Morning News says only 5%  still without power in Florida today.
M2 good luck on your Longboat Key rescue efforts.

5% I suppose is better that saying 165,000 plus,  Apopka , just NW of Orlando is still down.

the big 3 here are FP&L (Florida Power & Light ) OUC    (Orlando Utilities Commission)  and Duke Electric ...

It Duke that's taking the HEAT .... :(      I'm on OUC's Grid

Greg, left Monday , pulled his boat to south Ft. Lauderdale launched and headed down ....
took him 7 1/2 hours by boat to do 123 miles.... :o

Rodney and I are headed down Saturday, Orlando to marathon 343 miles , we new know we can get as far as Marathon and launch there  ( that is as far as they will let relief or aid volunteers drive .)
From there by boat  it's  only 17 miles to Long Key., or someone from down there can come meet you for the exchange .

Arnie ( our retired driver ) is answering text messages ....his house was flooded,  but his boat(s) rode out OK ( one is Sport Fisherman the other a Houseboat, where he is living...he has a diesel generator ( we are taking fuel )
we've got water , pet food , LARP's , can goods , and building materials. Arnie will meet us with his boat.

I will be an adventure for sure...

TK becareful and stay warm and dry.

Slim is it a worthy purchase? I am needing a new belt also. Been using the 5-11 duty belts but they loose after a few years.

Been to my tuesday morning mens bible study, then the feed store.  Fed the goats and pig, then unloaded chicken feed and fed them.  Now going to ride to town with Suzanne and watch her bowl. If not too late may stop and buy some .223 ammo.  Another day living the dream.

VPrez Pence is in Birmingham today Trump will be in Huntsvill Friday campainging for a politican running for Jeff Sessions Senate seat.  I haven't made up my mind on either yet.

M2 you also be safe... i am sure you will report later

Back to typical seasonal weather here on the coastal plains of Texas....hot, humid and afternoon thunderstorms.
Clean up and recovery efforts from Harvey are on-going.  Still a lot of debris piled up outside of affected homes.  It is a grand undertaking to dispose of all this...Thank the good Lord, there isn't any such pile in front of my home!

Did you ever notice that a saltine cracker is just the right size to fit in a can of potted meat and can be used as a scoop?  And, it is just the right size to fit a vienna sausage?

I prefer Frito scoops or ritz for that function.  All three are good with pinto cheese spred.

pinto cheese spread .. :-\   naught ... tried it once...it blew up when you hit it in the can  ;D

Since potted meat and Vienna sausages aren't on my menu, I'll just save the saltines for the next time we have chili. But scoops fritos are good with chili, too. Or tortilla chips.

Yes, It seems to be better than the one I paid about double for.  ::)

My great-grandfather would eat Saltines with sliced cheddar cheese.

I'm eating sharp cheddar cheese and crackers right now.

Had ring bologna from Den's Meat Market in Table Rock Nebraska for supper along with garlic bread made from sourdough French/Italian stle bread, made it with garlic infused olive oil and Assigo cheese.

Got sourdough sinner-mon rolls brewing.

Btw could take you on a tour of local meat market and we could spend the grocery money for the month and eat like Kings.

My xray shows my lung is staying attached...that is blessing. However i have somekind of viral thing in it going on. So now i am back on the dreaded z-pack of steroids and antibiotics. Ought be good for loosing 5 or 6 pounds again.
Mathew 5.9

Good Troy

Good news to hear on your x-rays!  Hopefully the meds will take care of the viral thingy.  Maybe I could get a script for about 5 or 6 rounds of Z packs....my trousers are getting tight.
